The campground is on the opposite side of the mountain to the south of Kumaru Elementary School, which is famous as a filming location. It's quite large, about 3 to 4 times larger than Tokyo Dome on the map.Half of it is on the mountain slope, Kevin and so on.The remaining half consists of bungalows, a flat lawn (there are some steps, but it's barely wide enough to play baseball), a swamp, and tall forests of cedars and pines. You can use the free site anywhere as long as it doesn't block the passage. Therefore, you can camp out in the forest from the flat lawn, or even sleep in a hammock. There are almost no outside lights, so a headlamp is essential when going to the bathroom. There are many insects, so insect repellent is necessary. The toilet room is small. It's been cleaned, but there are still a lot of insects. The forest is a hindrance to stargazing, but the grassy sites are open to some extent. It is not suitable for intensive stargazing, but there is no light pollution and there are no outside lights, so it is suitable for casual stargazing. The day trip hot spring is about 10 minutes by car.Showers in the administration building cost 200 yen for 30 minutes.Shopping takes about 30 minutes by car from Minamiaizu (Tajima).I used it on a Saturday and Sunday in mid-August.20 free sitesI was able to set it up about 20m apart from the person next to me, which was great.Cell phone reception is difficult (depending on location)Wi-Fi is available near the administration building.I felt soothed by the feeling of camping in a peaceful village forest.

Used for one night during Golden Week.It was a quiet campsite where you could see the stars clearly.Accommodations are affordable even though it's high season.

A campsite located in Showa Village in Okuaizu, Fukushima Prefecture. I used it for the first time for solo camping during Golden Week in May.It's a campground where you have to take your trash home with you, but the usage fee is low, and every place is well-cleaned, making it a wonderful campsite where you can relax and enjoy nature and your time.

I stayed at Kevin House. There was a lot of rat droppings in the kitchen and the hygiene was not good. At night, rats came out again.Even though it's a campsite, you're paying to stay there, so I wish they would pay more attention to hygiene.(The campsite I went to previously with the same price was very clean, so there may be a gap there.)The toilets seemed to be different depending on the cabin you were staying at, one was a regular toilet (no washlet) and the other was a sink type toilet. It's very cold indoors at this time of year, so it's a good idea to bring a warm blanket to sleep with. (It was too cold with just a sleeping bag)It is perfect for digital detox as there is no radio waves.

A simple campsiteThe internet is almost unusable and the facilities are not very complete. There is free Wi-Fi at the campsite, but I have never been able to connect to it...I think it's probably brokenThe nearby roadside station doesn't have anything for camping food.It will be difficult if you are not preparedBut it's cheap so it's crowded during holidays etc.
