We loved staying here! Hide San was so kind and welcoming, the meals were delicious, and the place is comfortable and peaceful. A highlight was the very deep bathtub, great for a relaxing soak. The rivers around the minshuku are very pretty, so we recommend a nice walk if you have the time!

What a charming establishment with an incredibly gracious host! Mr. Hi-de treated us to delicious traditional meals and arranged a delightful sumo tournament viewing on TV. His accommodating nature ensured our stay was both clean and comfortable. The location was convenient when we got off and get back on the trail. Highly recommended!

My wife and I stayed here night 4 of our Kumano Kodo trek. Our host was amazing. This was some of the best food we had in Japan (not just the Kumano Kodo). The next day it rained all day on what is considered the longest and hardest day of the Kumano Kodo. We are so glad we spent the night here prior to rest up. We will never forget this place, or the host, you provided us memories we will never forget. Thank you!
