The old hotel looks abandoned. There are not many clients and most of the territory is unused and looks overgrown. Very far from tourist places and the city. Management is not responsive.

I'm trying to give a factual and honest review here and give it a benevolent 2 stars.UNFORTUNATELY, this hotel is obviously in its last breaths, the location and orientation of the complex towards the forest with a beautiful waterfall is very nice and offers a great atmosphere, but there is a big but.Roughly speaking, this hotel has not been looked after or invested in for the last 20 years. In its heyday it must have been a wonderful facility. Now it feels more like a lost place. Many of the villas are dilapidated and obviously no longer rented to guests. You can save on breakfast because there is hardly any choice and you can eat much better everywhere in the area than in the hotel itself. The pictures that are advertised are no longer true.Access to the waterfall is boarded up and parts of the complex are simply no longer accessible. The barbecue area is abandoned and overgrown, many of the loungers are broken and nature is already reclaiming parts of the area (which has a certain charm)The pool bar has fallen apart.Anyone who likes to be alone and wants to have an entire hotel complex (what's left of it) to themselves is in good hands here.We had 3 guests and hardly any staff during our stay. The main pool is the last part of the hotel that can still be described as beautiful. We had a room with a private pool. The private pool and terrace were very nice in themselves and had a great view of the forest and waterfall. The room was very large but it was very damp and you could also smell the mold. The bed was damaged, the bed linen had holes (but was clean), and the bathroom was also a bit run down. The rooms are only made up after prior arrangement but you have to point out everything you want. The stay wasn't very expensive but it wasn't worth the money. It is a great pity that this facility has been allowed to fall apart like this. Conclusion :If you are a fan of lost places and can perhaps negotiate a better price for an overnight stay on site, you can take a look. I would advise everyone else not to book.

SEPTEMBER 2024 - The hotel was 5 stars maybe 25 years ago!! Absolutely overpriced. Quite old and above all NOT maintained. A local person told me that it has become more for local workers. I would have been satisfied if the price had been well less than half of what we paid. However, the staff were very helpful, so I repeat: the hotel could be fine if it had prices more or less on par with local room rentals. The video you see is for going to your room in the evening, it looks like the intro to a horror film =)!Small detail that is not written anywhere: being on the hill (very nice as an ambient) the rooms have 40/50 nice "heavy" steps to climb.

Overall stay is good, a few things worth noticingThe resort is opening at 50% capacity with half of rooms and buildings deserted (under construction according to management). These places are not safe to visit with rotten wood floors. The outgrowing plants covering trails need some serious clean up. I could image it's glories days but right now it's falling apart.Trail to valley is closed due to road destruction. The location is above a cliff and in a little village. Nice villagers would invite you to rooster fights hehe.Internet is a problem. Drops every 10 mins in the room with bad reception.

Good points include:Staff were nice and friendly. They had a shuttle service to the city( however timings were limited)This hotel is very far from the city and all main locations in ubud. It is secluded and in the middle of the jungle.Cleanliness: we took the suite with the private pool. The room was clean, however the smell was horrible and it was moldy and we were suffocating while sleeping. They did not use any insect repellent in the hotel so we were surrounded by all types of insects. Also the hotel has many old villas that are abandoned and the rooms which are used for guests are located 10 minutes away from the lobby with many stairs and located in the basement. The hotel in general is very old and needs alot of refurbishment and renovation. Also their breakfast is average and contained only few options.I would say that this hotel is not a good value for money.

We stayed 4 nights at this hotel located in Ubud.To begin with, I'm quite mixed. We paid 300€ for 4 nights and honestly it wasn't worth it…THE (-) :- Hotel which appears to be 4 stars but which in reality is very old... and not maintained (greenish offset on the walls) smells of mold- Location (obligated to take a taxi to go to Ubud center, the hotel offers shuttles from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. - and 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.)- The breakfast I was really disappointed… very small, our second day we discovered that there was no all-you-can-eat breakfast as usual but that you had to choose between two menus “American” or “ Indonesian »- We asked for water… for which we were charged 30K rupees for two bottles of water….- No maid for cleaning. We're not going into your room. Neither to change your towels nor for the bed.- No shower gel or shampoo- There are a lot of stairs (outside) to go up to your rooms so if you have several suitcases it is complicated even if we help you.- Do not come if you have strollers + children too complicated- Pool always empty. Nobody went there, I was surprised. Before I went there one morning alone and discovered a family of monkeys at the swimming pool!!!- The swimming pool is not maintained at all.The (+)- calm- very spacious room (we took a suite)- view of the magnificent forest- Kind and welcoming staff.- We were welcomed with a juice on arrival and a towel to dry our hands.
