We had the most beautiful stay with Hiroki-san and Naoko-san, the food was delicious and it was the perfect start to our Kumano Kodo trip.

Stayed here as a lodging for the first day on Nakahechi. The accommodation was clean and comfortable, and I've never experienced a place where the food was so luxurious. The interior of the house is also spectacular. The owner couple are very kind. You can also rent a washing machine.

We are frequent travelers. I rarely write reviews on Google. However, here it is worth it. This place is exceptional and comfortable. Nothing more to say because that would ruin the surprise. Just consider that the owner provides a shuttle service from Tanabe station, so getting to the place is very simple, easy and relaxed. The same to retreat to another point of kumano.

Lovely place and lovely hosts. Hiroki and Naoko were very kind and made our stay very easy and special.The food was amazing! We had dinner, breakfast and lunch box, all was delicious and you could feel the love they put in it. Thank you!

We had a wonderful and enjoyable evening here!Thank you to the kind and kind couple Hiroki-San for providing such a comfortable accommodation space, so that hikers on the Kumano Kodo can have a full rest. The bigger surprise is that the couple work side by side to serve the dishes with good food, delicious food, and delicious food. The five internal organs temples are soothed!If you are on the Nakabe Road, start from Tanabe City. It is only 2 kilometers away from Prince Takijiri. It is a very suitable stopping point. You can walk there by yourself the next day or be picked up by the hostel owner.

The owners of Kiyohime, his wife and daughter are very attentive to their reception. The facilities in the house are also very complete. Every dish in the Chinese lunch box is delicious. It is a recommended place to stay near Ryujiri.

A great starting point for our Kumano Kodo walk. The Guesthouse itself is very spacious and has everything you need (including a heap of brochures, information etc regarding the region and the walk). The dinner and breakfast were great, catering to pescatarian. Hiroki also kindly dropped us off at the start of the Nakahechi route in the morning.Thanks for a great stay Guesthouse Kiyohime!

This is a beautiful guest house and a perfect start to your Kumano Adventures. I’d walked the Kumano Kodo two years ago with girlfriends (I’ve lived in Japan for 4 years now) but wanted to return with my husband to show him some of my favorite Wakayama highlights. We are currently at Kiyohime Guest House and it is wonderful. Perfectly laid out with everything (remotes, bathroom features, etc.) carefully labeled in English so that the home’s features are easy to use. We have a rental car so getting around in this more remote area is easy but even if you don’t the house is stocked with complementary cup noodles and an honor bar system of drinks in the refrigerator. The futons are plush and extremely comfortable for tired hiking bones and the maps, bus schedules, guidebooks and other Kumano information in the living room are useful and informative. Had I known what a comfortable and convenient accommodation this guest house was we probably would’ve booked another night here! Hiroki San has done an outstanding job predicting what western visitors to the Tanabe area would enjoy and his kindness and hospitality are both top notch. Highly recommended.

Hiroki and his wife spoiled us with the warmest attentions! The host surprised us by waiting for us at the bus stop to drive us to the house for the remaining meters and offered to drive us to the starting point of the walking route in Takijiri-oji the following morning so that we would not have to take the bus again. We also had one of the best dinners so far while enjoying a perfectly peaceful stay at the house which we could use privately. All in all, we strongly recommend it!
