I stayed for 2 nights during the holidays in October 2024, with one room per person and breakfast included. It was 15,400 yen. It was a small hotel with a few rooms run by an old woman, and while the other hotels were full, this was the only one empty. Although it is a few years old, I got the impression that it was well kept. The hotel has all the basic amenities you'd expect from a hotel (toothbrushes, towels, yukatas, refrigerators, etc.), but don't expect too much. There is no bathroom or toilet. The toilet on the second floor is Japanese style, but the toilet on the first floor is equipped with a washlet. Kunashiri Island could be seen from the room. The bath was available for use from 5pm to 9pm, and in the morning it was only a shower. Breakfast was different on the first and second day, and I was especially happy with the salmon roe on the second day. It had a retro atmosphere and felt like time had stopped.

old. Not well maintained. However, it is possible if you can negotiate and stay cheaper. Regardless of the list price, it has to be less than 4,000 yen. If it's more than that, I'd recommend a different area. Well, conditions would be even worse in Shiretoko. Compared to the past, travel costs in eastern Hokkaido have continued to deteriorate. No wonder tourists stop coming.

The smell in the room that has been accumulated since the Showa era, the color of the walls...I can't say much. A nice lady greeted me, but... it's a shame.

Musty smell from not being cleanedIt doesn't even have a bath, and over 10,000 is too expensive even though it's a remote area. The equipment was dirty and I was bitten by ticks.

The building is old, but the hotel is run by a friendly couple. There is no bathroom in the room, but WI-FI is available, which is nice.
