It's very nicely maintained. When I visited on a Friday night in July, there were about 7 cars. Everyone slept in a hut the night before climbing. The toilets and kitchen are very clean. The inside of the hut is also very well maintained with tatami flooring. You can sleep comfortably without feeling hot or cold.No reservation is required and anyone can use it for free. Please be careful as there may be bears along the way. Some parts of the road are rickety. You may want to speed up, but be careful as your tires may suddenly be taken into a big hole.

2024.6.2 Mountain opening. From here you can climb Mt. Teshiodake and Mt. Mae-Teshiodake. There is a sign halfway up Mt. Teshio that separates the new road and the old road, but I decided not to go the old road because the mountain trail was muddy and I couldn't cross the river in some places, probably because the river was rising due to melting snow. A little further back, there was a turning point for Mt. Mae-Teshio, and from there we changed the route and climbed Mt. Mae-Teshio. The mountain trail to Mt. Mae-Teshio-dake was completely different in many places, and it was difficult to climb because of the scree all the way from the altitude of 1300m to the top. We started climbing at 7:30 a.m. and reached the summit of Mae-Teshio-dake at 11:10. We had lunch at the summit and headed back down the mountain without traversing to Mt. Teshio-dake. Arrive at the trailhead at 14:00. It is said that it takes about 1 hour between Mt. Teshiodake and Mt. Mae-Teshiodake. Adjust by wearing or taking off the jersey with one long-sleeved undergarment. Long pants underneath. Tenki.jp's mountain weather forecast predicted temperatures in the 4-6°C range around 1500 altitude, but the temperature was a little higher and the wind wasn't too strong, making it comfortable.

A campsite at the trailhead of Mt. Teshio.Even though it's called a campsite, the tent sites are mostly rocky and it would be quite difficult to get there without a mat.The kitchen is large and the water is drawn from a stream, but there is a warning that it is not suitable for drinking. There is also a restroom, but the door to the men's restroom came off and was left unattended😅.I used it in late June, but the gnats attacked me a lot lolYou can use the 2-story hut in front for free.At first we prepared in a tent, but the weather started to deteriorate so we decided to use it.Thanks to that, I was able to sleep soundly and was able to wake up early to climb the mountain the next day (^^)
