It was clean and had all the facilities so I had a comfortable stay. The only regret is that the hot spring facilities at the roadside station are under construction and cannot be accessed. There are no convenience stores nearby, and some of the restaurants in the village are closed irregularly, so we recommend staying overnight with meals included.

It's adjacent to a roadside station, so you don't have to worry about parking even if you have a large vehicle. There is a hot spring at the roadside station, but unfortunately it is closed. The bath at the mountain villa is located right next to the facility, but it is a unit bath. There are hot springs nearby, so please ask about them. The owner is a motorcyclist.

It's a great place to stay, and there's also a delicious izakaya restaurant and hot springs on the premises.Once you cross the river in the back, you'll find an old road that's very atmospheric, and it's a rural town that's fun to walk around in. The people are all very kind and warm-hearted.

My husband and I helped out on a day trip to Mt. Ikeguchi. I think it's according to other people's reviews. The master of the mountain villa is a friendly person and contributes to sightseeing in the surrounding area and the local Shimotsuki rituals. The building was a high quality log house and the room we were given was a very quiet room facing the river. Even though it's early October, I can see cherry blossoms here and there from my window, hear insects chirping at night, and birds chirping in the early morning. I was so happy lying down on the bed ♪ It was a great relaxing time for my tired body after climbing the mountain. The room is not large, but the white wood walls and ceiling are very pleasant and you can smell the wood. The high point is that the room has a washlet toilet and a mirror, which is convenient. There is a hand washing area, but it's a little difficult to wash your face (you can brush your teeth), but the floor gets soaked with water, so if you have a mat, it would be better. There is also a washroom in the hallway. Considering the number of rooms and the number of people it can accommodate, the dining room may be small (it was comfortable as we were the only ones staying that day).Dinner is served on trays. There are no fatty dishes such as fried foods, and no hot dishes such as grilled meat or hot pot dishes. It's a very simple country menu, not suitable for young people (by the way, we are a middle-aged couple, so it was perfect for us).Is the menu the same all year round? If you're going to come back again, I'd be happy if you could incorporate seasonal dishes as well. Breakfast is also normal, just like eating at home. The freshly cooked rice was delicious. For the bath, I got a ticket for the adjacent Kagura-no-Yu, and there are two baths, but unfortunately, I can't use it except on the day I stay, so Kagura-no-Yu is currently a boiling water, not a hot spring. Still, I can take a spacious bath, so I have no complaints. I was grateful that I was able to stay at a small hotel in Nagano Prefecture for a low price of 6,000 yen, including two meals. Mountain lodge? Pension? Are you sure it's somewhere in the middle? But, it's relaxing!
