Reservations are required from the website, but it seems like all the weekends of the following month are fully booked the previous month. It's free and there are no designated areas, so it's very crowded on weekends during the high season, and it's quite common for other unknown campers who arrive late and end up setting up at zero distance because they don't have space. It can be especially bad during cherry blossom season and Golden Week.Cars are not allowed, and the unloading area is far from the parking lot, where only two cars can be parked, and the slope is quite steep, so it might be difficult if you have large luggage. Also, perhaps because it is free, there are some people who have bad manners, such as talking outside until late at night. However, even if you deduct that, it's attractive that there are Western-style flush toilets and a kitchen for free. What should you focus on?

On the day I used it, there was a family camper who had no common sense. It can't be helped because it's a free site, but even after the sun went down, the kids continued to chase after the other campers, running around in close proximity to other campers' tents while shouting. The fireworks started at 10pm and it was a big fuss, and when the small children went to bed, the people who were awake continued to talk until midnight without lowering their voices. We are very grateful to be able to use it for free, but please be aware that some people may come without common sense.

Used at day camp. It's quite far from the main road so it's very quiet.A short walk from the parking lot.The campsite is a free site divided into a standing tree area and an open space in front of the administration building. There is a parking space for unloading, but only about 2 cars can be parked, so you will need to move your car. Also, there is a steep, uneven slope from the loading area, so you need to unload the cart before loading it.You can also use the toilet, cooking area, and barbecue stove for free. However, since it is free, the facilities are reasonable.Open flames and fireworks are prohibited.Advance reservations are required and usage is limited to once per month per group, but the good news is that you can check in and out 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. There is also playground equipment a short walk from the campsite.Apparently there is also a bus service, so even backpackers can use it.

After checking availability online, you can reserve a free campsite by email, which takes a little effort. It was troublesome that the unloading area and the parking lot were fairly far apart. You can't hear the sound of cars or trains passing by, you can hear the murmur of the river, and there are many trees, so you can feel the nature.

It's free and close to my house, so I use it often.
