We only went to the museum and that is highly recommended! These are just a few works of art, but very cool! We would have liked to spend the night in the hotel, but unfortunately it was already full.

Although it is a major art museum, it has nothing special about it.

The museum / art precinct was a bit disappointing given all the hype. There are more interesting places in Japan that require less hassle, time and expense to get to and have a greater collection of interesting art.

Benesse House did an excellent job providing a base camp from which to explore the art on Naoshima. The Oval suite was fantastic, and they provided a delightful welcome amenity to add to the already stunning view. …

The museum itself is just so so. Not much staff to look. But the staff are really nice. If you need help, they will try their best.
