Hotel Stadt Friedberg Gbr.

Had a product training course in Friedberg where we were told that we should move into the hotel by 11 a.m. When I arrived we were told that the rooms wouldn't be ready until 3 p.m. Well okay... Rooms are old but clean. Unfortunately, the bathroom has mold everywhere in the joints and the shower door is also broken.I mentioned this at reception, but no one seems to be particularly interested.A pity...

An outdated hotel, service and staff nice and friendly, but when it comes to cleanliness it leaves a lot to be desired, which is a shame

An old but quiet hotel. The rooms are clean, but very old. The beds are sagging and creak when you turn over. The breakfast is fine.

From 11/23/2023 to 11/24/2023 I booked a single room through Bookig, after which I received a confirmation of the reservation by email...... (I wanted to post all the reservation numbers, but alas, moderation rules), and then I received a PIN code....... (usually this is from the front door and at the reception there is a separately signed envelope with your name inside, a key card for the room door or a key, or for the safe in front of the entrance to the hotel where the keys to the door and the door of the room are located inside). This is the practice throughout Europe, if the client is delayed for any reason and the reception stops working after 21:00 and the guest needs to get to his room. Since there were bad weather conditions on the road and I was traveling from Poland through all of Poland and Germany (the journey took 23 hours), they brought me to the hotel at 3:00 a.m., as was understandable, the entrance was closed and there was no one at the reception , but there was a safe with a code on the street; after 5 attempts to enter the code, the safe did not open and I did not receive the keys. So I stood on the street in front of the hotel entrance for about 2 hours (let me remind you this is November and it’s good that I was without a family and small children), until I was unlucky and one guest of the hotel came out, so I ended up in the hall and ended up inside, for which Many thanks to the guest. After waiting for the hotel staff in the lobby, I explained the whole situation, to which I was told that the PIN was wrong (it turned out to be five-digit 62000 or 62100, I could be wrong, I don’t remember exactly). In this whole situation, I don’t blame anyone, there is always force majeure. I had an appointment at 9:00 and there wasn’t much time left to get myself in order, asking the staff to use the shower, they gave me the keys to room 209, to which I asked how much it would cost, the staff threw up their hands and said that they couldn’t tell that when the boss arrives I will be given an invoice. After using the shower and being in the room for about 30 minutes, I vacated the room and gave the key back, waiting for the manager in the hall. After a long wait in the lobby, the staff brought me a bill for 85 € (I knew and was ready to pay, but not that amount). Surprised by this score, I asked to meet with the manager. Talking to the “chief” as the staff call him and explaining this whole situation, he threw up his hands and insisted that I pay the entire amount of 85 €, that they did not send or give any PIN codes at all, that I had to check in from 6:00 to 21:00, that after 21:00 these are my problems, what should I do next! Although, please note that one of the hotel employees said that there is a PIN code, and in general, what kind of conversations with the client “that these are his problems, what should he do after 21:00, that all questions should be addressed to the Booking company, that they do not work with this company! Did I ask questions?? If they don't work with Booking then how did I make a reservation? Does he think it is right and fair to charge 85 € for 30 minutes in the room to wash? Would he have paid that amount himself if he found himself in such a situation? Why did the staff initially act this way by giving me the keys, assuming that they would issue me an invoice for this amount without warning (I don’t think they’ve had such situations in their practice for such a long time?). To which, having heard the answer “YES” from him, he would pay! I know that you “chief” are blatantly lying and you put this money in your pocket or shared it with the staff, because during the conversation afterwards, he let it slip that he is obliged to pay Booking tax on this money. I didn’t swear because I had to go and I didn’t want to be late for the meeting! Knowing that everything would turn out like this, you could turn around and leave! First of all, we need to remain human, we were given a language in order to speak! Because of such a precedent, a backward, bad aftertaste has spread over the entire city where good people and one very bad person live! It's not about money, it's about relationships between people. You are pathetic “boss”, I hope you really needed this money and you spent it usefully and became kinder!p.sAll letters confirming this reservation are available

Hotel is really old but ok, a renovation on at least the bathrooms wouldn't hurt. Staff is super friendly and helpful, my only complaint is there is no laundry, no dry cleaning service so if you plan to stay for more than 3-4 days plan ahead. Overall is just the basic bed and breakfast.

The hotel is located between the town hall and a school.Easy to reach and plenty of parking spaces in front of the building.The staff is extremely friendly and helpful.There is an elevator but the stairs are also very easy.The hotel itself is very comfortable. The rooms are almost all the same in style.It's very quiet here at night, but during the day you prefer to sleep on the town hall side, you can darken it very well with a blind.The rooms are very simple but still comfortable and cozy. There are also smoking rooms and a smoking lounge.However, there is one drawback: if you want to get drinks from the machines, you have to go to this really smelly lounge. This is very unpleasant for non-smokers.The beds are very comfortable, there is a second pillow in the closet.No save, no minibar.Order and cleanliness could be better.WiFi is of good quality.Breakfast is impressive, the price-performance ratio is good here.A small sauna can also be used. Daily during the week from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., on weekends different by arrangement.The staff is available until 11 p.mThe reception is not staffed at night.

If you're looking for a simple room with a good breakfast, you're in good hands here. Price/performance ratio is good. Service is good.Breakfast was buffet style and left nothing to be desired
