We booked the Werthersuite for the first night, what can I say except 1 A.Personally run hotel the suite is stylishly furnished and even has a small balcony.The new bathroom is modern with a shower and has great mirrors.The crowning glory was the breakfast, which includes everything your heart desires.Fresh fruit is part of it.The owner is very friendly and we had a great time.We can only recommend the Goethe Hotel without reservation.We'd love to come back.Top

Really great hotel that I really wanted to book even though I live nearby. The hotel really exceeded my expectations. The owner gave me a friendly welcome - I immediately felt at home. I immediately liked the suite - very large: the furnishings, the size, the coziness. It's a shame that the weather wasn't good enough to use the small balcony. In any case, it wasn't the last time I stayed here. It was - even though it was only one night and even though I live nearby - a little vacation from everyday life. It couldn't have been better.

We were on a bike tour along the Lahn. Of all the hotels during our trip, this was by far the best hotel. We had a very nice, decorative room with good beds and a nice bathroom. The breakfast was excellent, the service was very friendly.

I’ve never left a review for a hotel, but I feel compelled to leave a review for the Hotel Goethe in Wetzlar. I’m an American with a love for German high culture, and I visited Wetzlar to walk in the footsteps of the great German poet, so I decided—rather arbitrarily—to stay in a residence bearing Goethe’s name. It was a stroke of good fortune to end up there. It’s a lovely little boutique hotel with three suites named after Goethe, Werther, and Lotte, the latter two names coming from “The Sorrows of Young Werther,” Goethe’s first novel. I stayed in the Lotte Suite to try to enter into Werther’s passion, and I found it wonderfully evocative—an ideal way to see Charlotte Kestner née Buff’s birthplace. The location of the hotel is perfect and the owners are very kind and generous people, and I’m happy to recommend them.
