The service is great, very friendly and helpful.Rooms simple and pretty run down. Mattresses very soft.Bathroom mold in the shower cubicle.Breakfast simple.Right on the main street, so loud. Several police operations during the night.Surroundings close to town, within walking distance of the city.High foreign clientele all around.

I would like to tell you about my last visit to the Hotel am Ludwigsplatz. The hotel is a family business, the owners and the very small team greet me at the reception. We've known each other for years. The rooms are bright and friendly, the beds are comfortable, the breakfast buffet is rich and really good, the staff is very friendly. The hotel is divided into several floors. Today I can move into a single room on the second floor. The shower is integrated into the room, spacious and friendly. I get the suitcase carried to my room. I have known the employee for many years and she does an outstanding job. The beds are wonderfully comfortable to lie on, the window opens up to a view of the city of Giessen. The location is still quiet right on Ludwigsplatz. I'm looking forward to dinner in the Italian restaurant integrated into the house. It's also a family business and I've known the owner for many years. A very fine family man who, together with his family, has been able to run this restaurant excellently for many years. So I know that I will be well looked after and served in this first-class hotel that evening and in the coming days. The price-performance ratio is really good. I get a lot for a very down to earth and decent fair price. Therefore, when I come to Giessen: I would be happy to stay at the Hotel am Ludwigsplatz again. A. Köhler from Winterthur

The hotel is relatively close to the city center. Unfortunately there are only 4 parking spaces behind the house. It's getting a little old. Our room was newly designed and unfortunately the bathroom was not. Nevertheless everything was OK and clean. The breakfast was very good, everything your heart could desire and very tasty. The staff was nice and friendly. All in all, I would give it a good rating, depending on the price.

The hotel is a bit old, but well maintained. The staff were without exception friendly, courteous and helpful. (Public) parking spaces in front of the hotel were available (and easily payable for the next day using the easypark app). The breakfast was great.

Close to the center, with few parking spaces. Very inexpensive parking garage is nearby. The reception was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and well equipped, the breakfast buffet was tasty and had a good selection. We felt very comfortable here.

Pictures promise more than reality provides.The room didn't look anything like the pictures online. The shower was very calcified and had mold in the joints.The walls were so noisy that you could even hear the neighbor's video call one-to-one.The volume in the room is extremely high due to the main road.The bed has half fallen apart, and early in the morning you lie between two mattresses.

Nice little hotel in Giessen. Very friendly service staff and good breakfast. However, the issue of parking could be communicated a little better. There are actually no dedicated parking spaces, but underground parking spaces are available within a few minutes' walk for little money.

I stayed at this hotel twice because my working group took part in a workshop at the University of Giessen. The first time I specifically booked a room with a bathtub, but then only got a room with a shower. The next day I got a new room with a bathtub. The rooms are so clean. Furnishings are ok, some are new but not of high quality. The doors to the bathroom or the storage room or wardrobe are partly defective and old. The attic room had a bathroom door that couldn't be closed properly. It opened again on its own. On the lower floors you can often see the light from outside going on and off at night; it shines into the room despite the curtains. In general it is very noisy. If there are few people there, it's ok, but you can hear everything people are doing next door and upstairs you can hear very clearly when people aren't walking quietly. I could sleep best in the attic room. The elevator is very small and makes strange noises as if the wire ropes were straining, but I always rode alone. The breakfast was good. It is fresh with a lot of selection of different dishes. In addition to classic bread and rolls, there are also muesli, cornflakes, yoghurt, fruit, juices, coffee and tea. Showering is difficult for me anyway, but my companion also said that it doesn't work well. Only a little water comes out of the shower head. If you turn the water a little colder, it gets very cold and doesn't get warm again. Washing your hair was hardly possible in the cramped shower. The hotel is also not barrier-free. On our first visit we also had someone in a wheelchair with us. This one barely fit into the elevator. There was a barrier-free shower in a room on the attic, 4th floor, where you can't go up with a wheelchair because the elevator only goes up to the 3rd floor. The entrance to the hotel is also not barrier-free as there are several steps there. The hotel is also located on a busy road. The room I had yesterday was at the back and you could hear the cars honking because of the EM despite the windows being closed. The refrigerator was so loud in all rooms at night that I always had to turn it off to avoid being woken up by the constantly changing noises.CONCLUSION: For people like me who need peace and a bathtub for more than 3 nights, this hotel is not the first choice. I've had much better ones with a balcony or even a terrace for less money in larger cities than Giessen. But it's completely ok to stay for one night. Provided you can sleep and not be woken up by the constant background noise.

I had a large room with windows on two sides, with a window in the bathroom as well. All was quite clean. Breakfast was ok, although the choice was not so wide, e.g. there was no lactose free milk.

I was on a business trip and was super satisfied. The lady at reception greeted me in a friendly manner and check-in went quickly. My room was large, bright and clean. My booking requests were implemented. I was able to relax and unwind.The breakfast the next day was very tasty. A very friendly lady brought me coffee and was always on the ball to refill everything. Several different types of tea certainly leave nothing to be desired for tea drinkers. Here too, everything was clean and tidy. Everything is beautiful and prepared with love. The only thing I found unfortunate was that there was no latte macchiato. But that's complaining at a high level. I felt completely comfortable and will come back.Thank you.
