Very, very nice hotel, really great staff, gladly again!!

Both of us, at just over 50, are obviously the youngest guests...Uiuiui....🤭But from the beginning:We went to Restaurant Mamsel, which is the name of the restaurant in the Landhotel Waldhaus (Laubach). You come in and feel like you're in the past. I don't necessarily mean that in a negative way.When I imagine a romantic meeting of wealthy people over 80 wanting to meet for dinner, this restaurant is exactly what I imagine.Please don't misunderstand ☝🏻 That was our subjective feeling in the first few minutes and we have no intention of judging this as negative. It was great even if it surprised us at first.In contrast, some modern restaurants almost make us feel too old. Menus that you don't understand, music that is unpleasantly loud, waitresses that dub you as a matter of course and a volume that only allows any communication with the help of sign language.Back to basics!It's refreshing when there are still places where you can have a quiet conversation and enjoy the culinary experience.Large, expansive furniture with heavy fabric, wood paneling on the walls and ceiling, a selection of alcoholic drinks in the middle, wall lights, lampshades supported by angel figures.A place that breathes the charm of bygone times.You could describe it as “a dignified ambience”.The guests present fit perfectly into this ambience; their advanced age and chic wardrobe harmonized wonderfully with the atmosphere.The service staff moved between reserve and presence.The clear menu reflects the upscale cuisine that can be expected. Each type of meat or fish corresponds to its own dish, which deliberately limits the selection to the essentials and focuses on quality and sophistication.Fortunately, you won't find schnitzel in 5 different variations here.For me please - venison ragout from local hunting with mushrooms, broccoli and egg spaetzleFor my dear wife please - Fried salmonon green pea puree with braised chicory and caramelized tomatoesAs a starter please - 2 x Frankfurt green herb soup with homemade ricotta ravioliWe wait with excitement for our food, and the calm and dignified atmosphere gradually takes effect. The charm of this place gradually makes the initial discomfort disappear. When our starter is served, the spell is finally broken. It tastes great and is a real treat.The main course was visually very appealing and tasted excellent. The portion size was more than sufficient with a clear tendency to be quite large.In the meantime, two guests from the slightly younger generation have also arrived with their families.The average age continues to fall. 😉Conclusion:- anyone who has no problem with the almost nostalgic ambience- if you don't feel like schnitzel, burgers or gyros etc- if you don't feel like having a menu with sometimes well over 30 different main dishes- if you want a really, really good meal...he has good advice here.Rating regarding the food was 5 stars.Rating regarding facility is very subjective. It doesn't suit our taste 100% but it is very consistent and authentic and deserves 4 starsWe round up independently. With a squinted eye, we give a total of ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Somehow everything fits together.We were thrilled and will definitely come back.We give it a double thumbs up 👍🏻👍🏻

The prices are not adjusted to the quality. Food leaves a lot to be desired

Nice and clean, very good restorant.|In the description and pictures there was a swimming pool but it wasn't mentioned that was not heated, so it was not for swim use.||Nice and clean hotel. …

Galactic wedding celebration in the Waldhotel Laubach.Getting married at the Waldhotel Laubach is simply a dream. We celebrated our Star Wars wedding at the Waldhotel and are still thrilled. The Waldhotel is beautifully situated in the countryside with a great garden for a free wedding ceremony, plenty of space for small and large children to play and run around. The event barn 'Blue Lion' with the small terrace is wonderfully prepared for weddings and offers a wonderful ambience between half-timbered and modern. The Waldhotel team is outstanding and doesn't let themselves be disturbed by unplanned delays (guests in a sales jam) and is always professional. The cuisine is world class, very tasty and highly recommended – tip: try the mamsell restaurant. From the first conversations with the siblings Saskia and Karim Rühl, the preliminary discussion, the organization and our wedding, we felt very welcome and in good hands at the Waldhotel. We say a big THANK YOU for a wonderful day and will certainly come back to eat in the mamsell restaurant again and again.May the power be me to you... Thank you!Vanessa & Tobias

A very nice hotel right next to the forest. You can go hiking, eat very well right in the house, or be in the old town of Laubach in 20 minutes on foot. We thank you for your friendly welcome and an excellent breakfast.The only point of criticism: pool and sauna were only usable to a limited extent.

The equipment, the design is a bit, a bit from all possible styles of the last 50 years... it somehow has a charm that not everyone likes. Various investments in equipment would be great. The staff, the service and the food are great! The surrounding area invites you to take walks.

Nice atmosphere and great food...

Went to a party there and we were very pleased.Something i.d. Years have come, but it also has flair.Food was great, service was very friendly and attentive.If it hadn't just rained, we would have had to go for a walk.What I could see was the possibility and certainly nice 😉
