The hotel is clean, contemporary and perfectly located. The breakfast is super varied and delicious. The staff always friendly and attentive. Hiking, bowling, relaxing in the sauna and enjoying a drink at the bar in the evening - there is something for everyone. Keep it up ♡. The only thing that didn't convince us (a matter of taste) was the Panorama Restaurant. We found it very expensive and the food was more of a 7/10. But everyone has to form their own opinion. A very nice hotel with great and very friendly staff. The panoramic sauna is an experience and highly recommended. The location is an ideal starting point for many beautiful hikes in Saxon Switzerland and the surrounding area.

A very nice and clean hotel with a very good location. You can go on a number of beautiful hikes from there as the surrounding area is simply wonderful. It's certainly not one of the cheapest hotels, but I can only recommend it.

Great hotel located directly at the Bastei. Staff great, breakfast very tasty and rich. The room is fine, I just don't think the carpet is up to date and would swap it for laminate or something similar. I'd love to come back.

The hotel is really wonderful. Everything is spotlessly clean, dignified and comfortable. There is a pleasant atmosphere everywhere and the employees were all friendly, helpful and unobtrusive. The breakfast room is very nice and if there is a window seat available, you have a beautiful view of the rocky landscape.The food in the associated panoramic restaurant is very good and the service is first class. Even small extra requests were addressed without any problems.The landscape of course speaks for itself, the Elbe Sandstone Mountains are simply beautiful and you can start the most beautiful hikes directly from the hotel.I had a thoroughly enjoyable stay and I'm sure it won't be my last visit to this hotel.

Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio is not right here. The rooms are old fashioned with carpeted floors, but VERY CLEAN. That was it. From the outside it looks very shabby.The situation is terrible. Tourists come at 6 a.m. to take photos of the sunrise. The night's peace is then over. We weren't aware that the hotel was right next to a tourist magnet with snack bars and the like. Maybe we should have been aware of it. I can only recommend everyone to take a hotel away from home and hike to the Bastei Bridge for a day. Makes more sense. Over 650 euros for two nights with HB is completely exaggerated. The food was good if you found something for yourself. There was game, fish and soy burgers to choose from. A bit daring, a dish like schnitzel or something similar would have been beneficial.SHORT: You can stay much nicer for less money.

The location is of course excellent, really right next to the Bastei. The hotel is worth it because an overnight stay gives you the chance to visit the bastion away from the tourist crowds.The rooms are very small. As an adult, you have to squeeze past each other if you want to get from one side to the other. We upgraded to mountain view rooms. That was nice, but the balcony wasn't usable. People often smoked in the courtyard, so the disgusting smell of smoke came into our room and we couldn't really ventilate it. When we brought this up, it felt like our complaint wasn't really being taken seriously.The beds were terrible for me. Extremely soft, almost saggy. I often heard the springs squeaking and unfortunately also felt it in my back. The result was poor sleep.The bathroom is fine, everything is clean and modern.There is no possibility to buy drinks/snacks in the hotel, which means you have to rely on the expensive Bastei restaurant.There is no kettle in the room, but a free minibar is available.For guests who are only staying for one or two days, there will probably not be any obstacles.You can eat relatively well in the restaurant with an outstanding view.Regarding parking, we would have liked the website to explain in more detail how exactly to proceed: through the crowds to the hotel. Unload there, check in, get a parking ticket. Back through the crowd and into the parking lot. Back to the hotel and done.The hotel is of course very expensive (due to the location etc.). I can only recommend it for a short trip to the Bastei, but not for longer stays.

This is a hotel in a phenomenal location. It can be very touristy here. Because the hotel is right on site, you can see the bastion outside of peak times. The rooms are nice. A bit small and the balcony is more of an exit without a comfortable floor. This invites smokers, which is why you can hardly ventilate. Everything seems clean and the staff is largely committed and very friendly. We were on site at the end of September and day by day there were fewer staff available, so some of the outdoor stands had to be closed. We only ate and drank on site - unfortunately we contracted a gastrointestinal infection or food poisoning. Unfortunately, we still had to pay for the breakfast we didn't use, which wasn't the best value for money. The coffee tasted like it had been warmed up several times and kept warm, and partly burnt. The scrambled eggs were also not edible. It is a good idea to order other coffee specialties, such as fresh cappuccino. The rest was perfect.We also heard other guests in the bathroom at night - something seems to have broken out there. Something like this can happen and is difficult to contain in such busy places. We would still have liked someone to accommodate us. Under different circumstances this would have been a wonderful short vacation.

A quiet hotel in a secluded location - at least when the day tourists are away. If you want to take a detailed look at the bastion or just switch off, this is the right place for you.The rooms are clean, furnished to a good standard. The bathroom in the single room is small, but still sufficient. And the bathroom was also clean.The view from the panoramic restaurant delivers more than it promises and the food was also very good. The bar invites you to linger in the evening and the breakfast was also very good.If you arrive by car, you should definitely book the parking space for 7 euros. When you arrive you can drive through to the hotel and receive the access card to the parking lot. It feels a bit strange in the sometimes large stream of tourists, but you have to get through it (in the truest sense of the word).

Their attitude is so bad. I didn’t live in the hotel. I’m a tourist who doesn’t speak German. I bought water from them and they said I cannot pay under 5€ by card. But they didn’t notice it in English so I must buy more things. And when I gave them the advice they yelled at me “you don’t have to buy”. That’s so rude.

It would almost have been 5 stars, but the rooms are a little old, and like other guests, I found the €20 per nose per sauna day to be something that took some getting used to.Now to all the good things: Very nice sauna, with a wonderful view of the mountain panorama from the infusion sauna (infusion can be triggered at the touch of a button) and the relaxation room.The staff at reception, in the restaurants and in the bar are exceptionally friendly and competent.Apart from a dessert that was too sweet, the food in the panorama restaurant was very tasty with affordable wine recommendations.The location is of course great. But you have to be able to handle crowds. The Bastei is a real magnet; almost every second conversation we overheard was in a foreign language. We visited the Bastei Bridge or the new Bastei view before breakfast or in the evening before dinner, it was much emptier there.I recommend:Climb over the Bastei Bridge and past the (unfortunately closed) Neurathen Felsenburg to Rathen to the ticket office of the Felsenbühne, then right past the ticket office through the Amselgrund. You can go boating or pedal boating on the dammed stream. And then climb back up over the Schwedenlochen, where it's nice and cool, which is good with 700 steps or so. At the top you can see the beautiful pavilion view of the Bastei Bridge from behind.
