First of all: we canceled the booking because the landlord's behavior was very questionable and he took any additional information we provided as an opportunity to impose additional costs on us.The review is therefore not a property review (which is positive, see other review portals), but rather a review of the landlord and the business conduct.I have already rented a few holiday homes, for family and for work. I have never had to pay so many extra costs as described below. Never before has a landlord charged an “entrance fee” for day guests, usage fees for the terrace, garden and chairs. I've never had a landlord who wasn't willing to discuss the possible uses constructively in some way. A landlord has never told me - before he even met me - that he had a "bad feeling". A wedding party that was all about eating something together - no party, no dance music, nothing. We presented everything transparently that the landlord used to formulate additional costs due to his “uneasy feeling”:After booking (explicitly as a booking for wedding guests), landlords charged more and more extra costs for guests who wanted to enter the property during the day (not stay overnight). These prices were significantly excessive and incomprehensible: extra costs for use of the terrace and garden and seating; Extra costs for crockery and cutlery; Extra cost for tablecloths per person. Suggestions from us (use your own dishes, no need to provide additional seating) were not accepted by the landlord. Our request was rejected by the landlord with strange reasons (“uneasy feeling”).For the use of a grill (IKEA), the landlord charges a sum that is probably close to the purchase price of the grill.A three-digit sum is earmarked for rain protection on the terrace.Overall, the landlord gave us the impression that he was trying to get money out of every opportunity that came his way. Understandable to a certain extent, but the costs are clearly too high. We also had the feeling that the landlord, probably for emotional rather than rational reasons, did not want us as guests and therefore argued quite excessively about the additional costs. Since I'm not someone who can't approach something like that with understanding, I explained to him exactly who was coming and what would be done. There was no evidence of any concession or understanding on the part of the landlord.In our view, not recommended due to business practices. Anyone who is willing to pay excessive additional costs for every service is welcome.To close with my fiancée's words: of course we are spending money on our wedding, even more than we would have had to pay there anyway, but not here. Otherwise happy everywhere.
