For our stay in Dresden we were looking for a cheap hotel for 2 nights (family room, 2 adults and 2 children). We liked the Meininger Hotel the most (price, pictures online, reviews) and then booked it.We were pleasantly surprised. We had a room with a double bed and two single beds and a decent bathroom. Overall, of course, it wasn't high-quality equipment and everything was relatively simple. You shouldn't expect a luxury hotel at these low prices. Above all, the location is very good, right at the train station, you can also easily walk to the center of the old town. It is a bit noisy due to the location, but the windows are well soundproofed so it is not disturbing. It was very quiet in the hotel itself. We found the room to be clean, everything was fine, we received a friendly welcome, checking in and checking out were quick and easy. You can park in the parking garage next door (for a fee of €13.50 per day), but with a direct entrance to the hotel if you park on the second level. You can only access the floors with the rooms with the key card for the room, so that no strangers have access. I found that positive too. There are a number of shops in the train station opposite (including Lidl) where you can buy everything you need, even on Sundays. There is an Edeka next door and as already written, you can also walk into the old town center. We didn't book breakfast, so we can't say anything about it. I took a look and it looked pretty neat. Although it's not overpriced at €12.50 per person, we took care of ourselves. In short, if we need a room in Dresden again, we will definitely come back. I think you will hardly find anything better in terms of price/performance.

Uncomfortable rooms, see photos. The rooms are bare with a kind of plastic floor that is unfortunately not clean. see photos. The floor in the bathroom is tiled but doesn't look exactly clean either. Very bad service if you arrive after 10 p.m. you are not allowed to take the elevator and you have to drag your luggage up the long stairs to the reception. Ringing the bell several times to reach the reception was simply hung up/rejected faster and faster. In the bathroom you only have a mini edge on the sink to put your bathroom clothes on. It has a prison feeling because there are windows, but they are covered from the outside with a blind or something made of some kind of fabric or tarpaulin so that you can't see out. Only the location to the train station is good but I will never book this hotel again

This is a hotel that loves paying. When I tried to leave my luggage before check-in, they charged me 7€. Check-in was also charged 2€. This hotel is almost a scam. It's all about billing.

The hotel itself is actually quite nice, the only criticism is the cleanliness in places (dust on the furniture)

Good hotel in a best location, as the train station has many different trains.Even though there were many school classes here, it didn't bother us to sleep. Rooms are quiet and clean. The size with family in the 4 bed room was generous. RecommendedYou can park your car in the parking garage right next to it for an additional charge!

The hotel is located directly at Dresden main station, so right in the center. We booked the hotel because we traveled by public transport and wanted good connections. The staff is very friendlyThe rooms are more reminiscent of a youth hostel or hostel, but that didn't bother us.We will book here again for next year
