A really pleasant stay! The staff was very friendly and we liked the breakfast buffet - lots of choice and everything was fresh. The rooms are newly renovated and make a very nice impression. The location is ideal for cycling and hiking tours, and there are enough parking spaces right in front of the house. We'll definitely be happy to come back!

A really nice hotel. The staff were great. The rooms were clean but the bathroom was a little dated, but still clean.
The only issue was the idiots racing cars and bikes on the road outside. The hotel can't be blamed for that.

I stayed at the Hotel Stadt Gernsbach for several weeks last year for a work appointment and decided to stay at the hotel again this year. It's ideally located if you're traveling by public transport as the S-Bahn stop can be reached on foot in just a few minutes, but there are plenty of parking spaces available. The house is currently being renovated step by step and the renovated rooms have become more than comfortable and elegant. But you can also feel comfortable in the rooms that have not yet been renovated, although you should generally make sure to choose a room at the back as there is a lot of traffic rushing past in front of the hotel during the day. The staff is consistently friendly and helpful and the breakfast buffet leaves nothing to be desired. I can therefore only recommend the hotel for both business travelers and holidaymakers.

Nowadays, when you check into a hotel where a single room costs over €100 per night, you expect at least basic comfort. Unfortunately, this can be forgotten at the Hotel Stadt Gernsbach. The rooms have been retained in the style of the 60s. Not only is there a lack of modernization, but also things that the host could easily fix: a broken shower head, the lack of any form of soap, and a shower that requires acrobatics to climb into. With a little more effort, this dated but charming hotel could be made into a more pleasant place to stay.

We had an ancient, musty second bed room. Probably because of the unsightly carpet. This carpet is also in the entire hallway area. That's why the whole hotel smells very bad. There was also a very unfriendly employee at the reception. We asked for another room with a balcony. She claimed that there was no other room available. In the evening you could see from the outside that many rooms were unoccupied. It was a blatant lie!We would never stay there again!

We were only there for one night. That was enough too! Unfriendly woman at reception. Our room smelled very musty. Probably because of the very old carpet. Our single beds were very old and very narrow! We asked for another room, also with a balcony. The employee claimed there was none available. We looked in the evening and several rooms were unoccupied. We assume it's a blatant lie. We wouldn't stay there again for any price in the world!

Overnight stay at the Hotel Stadt Gernsbach for the Old Town Festival. Spacious rooms, with balconies. View of Mercury and the old town.Visiting the old town festival was only 600 m away.Breakfast with a lot of choice.Again any time.

I was there for 2 weeks for work and I was satisfied. Reception and breakfast on the 4th floor is unusual but there is an elevator. All 3 of us had a room with a balcony. That was facing the street and so there was more noise than coming out the back, especially through the train. But if you don't like it, you can perhaps rebook. I liked being able to enjoy the end of work on the balcony in the evening. All of our rooms had external blinds, which was very pleasant. The room was very spacious and had a fridge. The bathroom also promised. I accept small defects such as a loose soap dish or stains on the carpet in the hallway. The entire staff was very friendly and helpful from morning to evening. The breakfast was good. There was enough choice and everything was fresh and it was replenished. There were enough parking spaces at the house.
