Mediocre stay but the food was greatI recently spent a few nights at this hostel and overall my stay was okay. The rooms were pretty basic and could definitely use some renovation. Unfortunately, the beds weren't very comfortable and the cleanliness left a lot to be desired in some places. The common areas were functional, but nothing special - they lacked a bit of coziness.But what really stands out positively is the food! The meals were fresh, tasty and had a good selection, which pleasantly surprised me. Great emphasis was placed on healthy and varied food, and the staff in the kitchen were very friendly.The staff was generally helpful, even if a little disorganized at times. Fine for a short stay, especially if you don't have high expectations and are looking forward to good food. If the house were modernized in some places it could be much more pleasant.

What was very, very negative was that there was only one key per room. NO electronic room cards, like in all the youth hostels where we were before. The room could be opened from the outside at any time. Since it is impossible to lock sleeping people in for fire safety reasons, my husband was not able to go out in the evening. Because I never sleep with my daughter in an open, unlocked room where someone can gain access at any time!! An old key, absolutely out of date. There was no second key. Not even for the other rooms!! I will never be a guest there again!!

The youth hostel was nice and clean, staff was friendly. It was a bit noisy at times but that was due to two or three groups of school children and must not forget that I was young once as well. Very good breakfast.

The rooms are mostly clean but the showers are a little dirty. In addition, very little water came out of the shower because the shower head was completely blocked.

A youth hostel where very friendly people work. It was surprisingly quiet at night, despite the house being full. It was also well distributed at breakfast. Unfortunately, when I lifted my mattress, there was dirt underneath, but it was wipeable.

we have been there for 2 nights.although rooms here are kinda small, there was everything we needed.also there was a lot of dust everywhere. brushes and air conditioning are covered in dust (I am attaching a photo). bad place for allergy sufferer. I had problems with dust allergy in this place throughout the entire trip.really good buffet breakfasts, fresh bread and lots of toppings.unlike breakfasts, all other meals were just bad. the spaghetti contained sausage of questionable quality - cheap luncheon meat.the roast turned out to be a baked pâté with an egg inside, which was simply tasteless.kitchen like from 1980. and it stinks in the corridors.terrible shower. water flies in all directions, either super hot or ice cold. the ventilation cage has been in need of replacement for over a dozen years.the entire facility was VERY stuffy.to sum up, if you are looking for a cheap bed and breakfast, great. but I can't imagine staying there for more than two days and with such additional meals

Overall, not recommended!!! At the beginning we were very exhausted after the arrival but we first had to endure a 30 minute instruction. We were strictly forbidden to drink in this special place in the building, we were even strictly forbidden to buy bottles to take home with us. Apart from that, we first received our door key and, without thinking anything, bagged our bed covers in the breathtaking “lobby” and entered our room. When we entered the room we noticed that the door handle was at knee height. When we arrived in our room we immediately felt at home. NOT. The first thing we did was make our beds with the stained bed linen and lay down in our submarine beds as a test. Submarine beds because half of our comrades couldn't fit into the beds. So we had to realize that our longest comrade had neither his head nor his feet in bed. We noticed that we also had to share our beautiful bathroom with 2 other rooms. This bathroom was designed for disabled people. Here it was an open room with a shower where the water drained very slowly. The only way to dry your hands after using the toilet was to use toilet paper. At the same tab, the locals greeted block residents with traditional shouting and insults through our window. They even had a welcome gift for us, namely sticks, which they kindly threw through our window on the second floor. However, the friends in blue arrived quickly. The theater was complemented by racial cries from another class above us. Unfortunately, the visit ended with a heavy police presence, which meant we were able to talk to the local police about Leipzig for half an hour. When we came back late in the evening and were looking forward to the reception, which was open all day, we were unfortunately let in very surprisingly annoyed (we found this a great shame). This was day one. We didn't have to set an alarm because we were woken up by the 5 star service of a plane crash-like noise. The breakfast, on the other hand, was very good for the price 👍 (not ironic this time). When we returned from the city our entire hallway was under water, which is remarkable since no one was present in that hallway during that period. The staff turned out to be unhelpful, so teachers and students were allowed to clean the hallway hand in hand on their own at half past 12 at night. Contrary to all expectations, this was not a good team building measure, as everyone involved shouted at each other in a slightly sour and tired manner. On the same day we urinated on a window sill in one of our rooms from the window above. Overall it was a successful holiday and we had a lot of fun. This youth hostel basically had good points but was definitely not justified for the price. You have to know.
