I've been to SAXX Leipzig three times now, always in the same room. The equipment is very good and modern, you can really feel comfortable. The location is less great, right at the intersection of the B2, one of the main traffic axes in Leipzig, and the tram traffic is very heavy, even on the 5th floor you can't miss the trams, which is not good for light sleepers like me. The windows are double glazed, but triple glazing with acoustic protection would be appropriate here.Things get really bad when rescue workers come by with sirens, this often happens several times during the night, and then you lose sleep. There are 2 elevators in the house that go on strike every now and then, one has been out of service for 2 weeks. Early in the morning and in the evening it's not a problem, but during the day it's a pain to get access to the remaining elevator because it's on the floors of the house 1-4 A clinic, doctors, and other companies have their headquarters, the public traffic on the lower floors leaves little space for the upper floors, you can sometimes wait more than 5 minutes, but with 2 elevators it works quite well.Since there is no reception, everything works via email or WhatsApp.There is a special app called HelloGuest that can also be used to open the room door using a QR code if you don't have the room card to hand. Now comes the ABSOLUTE NOGO:Basically, the room card is deactivated at some point the day before departure and you have to create a new room card yourself in the check-in lounge, access to which is also secured via a QR code. So far so good, but what happened to me today on March 11th, 2024 is the last straw. Neither the room card nor the QR code worked, and the keyboard at the check-in lounge that you used to gain access the first time didn't work with the known code.It took half an hour until someone urgently opened the door to my room and gave me access to the check-in lounge so that I could get a new room card. I imagine the end of the day to be different.Nobody needs such experiences after a long day at work, especially not in the evening before departure when you are looking forward to coming home again after a long time. For me, despite all the comfort, this house is a great room with a large box spring bed, air conditioning, refrigerator, oven, 2 burner stove, dishwasher including detergent, 2 elevators, 3 free washing machines including detergent and 2 dryers and, unfortunately for a fee, underground parking no longer bookable.I hope the operator gets its problems under control, because the high room prices are absolutely excessive, especially for short booking periods.
