We were here with 6 people for a city tour through Leipzig. The hotel is very centrally located and everything you want to see is within walking distance. The breakfast is good and can be enjoyed until half past ten even for late risers. The staff is consistently very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are sufficiently large. Unfortunately, the entrance to the hotel is not that easy to find at first. But overall we felt comfortable and would come back.

You can hardly stay overnight in Leipzig in a more central location. Although you can't drive to the hotel, the parking garage is only a few minutes away and is cheaper if you stay overnight.The hotel scores points with its cozy roof terrace and breakfast room on the top floor, right next to the historic Nickolai Church. Cultural institutions and good, varied restaurants as well as shops of all kinds can be reached on foot. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating.The only thing we were missing in the room was storage space in the bathroom.The room was modern and elegantly furnished.

The rooms were very good, good and friendly service. Breakfast was rather second class. Very central location. But there is a deduction for restless nights. Until 3:30 in the morning you could hear loud music and drunk people shouting...

The Best Western Premier Royal Hotel is recommended. The only thing that was really unpleasant was the location of the hotel. The entrance is not on the specified street Grimmaische Str. 19, but at the back, on Nikolaikirchhof street, entrance approximately in the middle of the street.Leipzig is a city worth seeing. We were thrilled. If you don't know the city, it's worth taking a city tour with one of the local driving companies. You can get off at sights and get back on the bus at the next stop after you have explored everything.Otherwise you can reach almost everything in and around Leipzig by tram.

Multiple things gone wrong but the highlight, is their absolute disrespectful customer service, in every single aspect. Details below.Safe to say, would highly discourage anyone from staying at this hotel.To start off, we were given a smaller room even though we had booked a bigger one on Booking.com; when we went back to the front desk, she just said that all rooms are the same size. We checked the floor plan and other photos and of course, that was not true and she had lied to us to make us go away, there are bigger double rooms, specifically the one we had already paid for.Next, WiFi was non functional the entire time and front desk would keep saying they would “restart the router”, which seems to be a recurring platitude from what I read in the other reviews.Shower was pretty bad, kept going from very hot hot water to cold every few minutes and it was uncomfortable.However, the worst part was breakfast. We went there at 10, and it’s supposed to be till 10:30. Every tray was empty and stayed that way, with no refills. Please see photo, where even water was not refilled.It was truly a painful experience given the fact that the rates itself were pretty expensive for one night.We mentioned all of this during checkout and we were told that they would contact “upper management” and get back to us. Upper management got back with basic responses with no initiative or action from their side, staying consistent with their theme of just saying something to make us go away.Would highly recommend that no one ever visits this specific location, given how disrespectful they have been through all of it. Seriously, one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a hotel stay.

What a lovely hotel. We booked it the same day for a bargain price. Great welcome at reception, the room 1 Plus with stars, the location unbeatable and the breakfast was also delicious. We felt very comfortable. The only criticism is that it wasn't the same or easy to find. The hotel entrance is at the back of the building, which was impossible to guess. Google didn't have a solution either. I was a bit desperate for a moment, but the hotel quickly made up for it, thank you very much

The wifi didn’t work, I went twice to the reception and they said they would restart the router. For the price you pay, having wifi should be very basic. The place is very central and rooms are decent. Just a pity by not having wifi. If you travel abroad and don’t have data, you should consider the wifi/internet issue.

Ideal starting point to explore the city, the opera house is nearby, as is St. Nicholas Church and much more. Breakfast is very good and nice service. Rooms are also okay, unless you get a room for the disabled. There is a very large bathroom there, but showering becomes a problem. No shower screen (there would be enough space for wheelchairs) and no storage space or grab handles. That should definitely be changed. Otherwise recommended.

When you book through Booking.com you are sometimes surprised at what you get in the end. We were at this Best Western too. We were given an extremely friendly welcome and since we had something to complain about in our first room (atrium view of a huge, colorfully painted house wall that felt like 3m in front of the window) we were given another one for a very small surcharge and suddenly had a corner room with a view of the city .Breakfast perfect, all serving spirits friendly and unobtrusive - 5! I rarely give stars - I like to do so here.

Our stay at the Best Western Royal Blue in Leipzig was a real ups and downs - but thanks to Mia it was ultimately an unforgettable experience. To be honest: we didn't particularly like Leipzig as a city. The atmosphere was often cold, and unfortunately we have to say that many of the women we met had an unfriendly and distant attitude, which rather put us off. It seemed like people in Leipzig didn't have much use for friendliness.We felt out of place, especially in the clubs - not because the music was bad, but because we were constantly made to feel like we were just too old to belong. Looks that said, “What are you doing here?” and the constant subliminal message that we didn’t fit into the scene made it difficult to enjoy the evening.But then Mia came into play - the saving island in the murky sea of Leipzig's cold. She wasn't just the exception, she was the embodiment of kindness, charm and genuine warmth. They made us feel welcome and valued at the Best Western Royal Blue, as if we were old friends who had always been expected. Thanks to her, our stay at the hotel became a bright contrast to the rather unfriendly city. Without Mia, Leipzig would be a memory that we would have quickly left behind - but at least the hotel remains a fond memory for us.

Room 117 - "with a view of the atrium" is very euphemistic, technically speaking it is a view of an atrium, approx. 5 m wide and 4 floors high, emergency exit stairs and technical systems included.Otherwise everything was TOP, small, nice room, delicious breakfast, good service and short distances to the city center.

My recent stay was unfortunately overshadowed by an unpleasant experience upon arrival. I was offered a welcome drink to share with my father, but the barman questioned our eligibility and then escalated the situation by arguing with us and the receptionist, even raising his voice at my father. Despite assurances from the receptionist that the issue would be addressed with the manager, there was no follow-up or resolution.On a positive note, the breakfast staff the next morning were polite and professional, which stood in stark contrast to the treatment we received the previous evening.

Great hotel in a great location. Excellent breakfast. Unfortunately what the receptionist and the bartender did on 9/1/24. not really interested in serving anyone. We wanted to end the evening on the great roof terrace. After 20 minutes we left because both of them were busy with themselves. Nobody was there except us!! We spent the money elsewhere. When we got back to the room there was a note with a voucher for two drinks in the bar, which we didn't want to redeem. A no go is to enter the room if no one is in it. Everything was fine except for the service.
