Hotel Am Klostersee DargunAs a business traveler I spent one night in this hotel. The location: The hotel is idyllically located on the lake and near a beautiful monastery-castle ruins on the edge of Dargun.Ambience: The hotel is a privately run hotel. From the outside it makes a solid impression. However, when you walk in you can already guess what condition the hotel is in. Not a single euro has been invested here since the 90s. It's actually a shame, because the hotel's ruins are worth seeing and the opportunity to get married there makes it ideal to celebrate in the hotel next door and accommodate the guests there. That would be a first-class location that could also be used for advertising. Unfortunately, the hall has probably not been in use for a long time except for breakfast. The furniture seemed wildly thrown together and without a concept. It's a real shame because it's actually a nice hall to celebrate. The room I stayed in cannot actually be offered to a guest. The carpet hadn't had a thorough cleaning in a long time. It was stained and massively dirty. You could definitely have achieved something with a steam cleaner. The facility was past its prime 20 years ago. It is unclean and worn out. The tablecloth on the small side table is also dirty. Dust can be found on the head of the bed, on the mirror and even in the bathroom. The bed linen smells musty. A sign that there is no dry cleaning here and that normal washing machines are used. In the bathroom you can find mold in the shower and you can see from the holder for the toilet paper that it is not cleaned consistently here either. Then here's something positive. The room has a balcony. But here comes something bad again. There is a full ashtray on the balcony... The fact that you can also access my balcony through a door from the stairwell unfortunately makes it even worse and easier for potential thieves who can gain access through a door left open on a hot summer night while you sleep.Service: The staff (i.e. the owners) are nice, personable and friendly, but I think that sweatpants and flip flops are not appropriate clothing for hotel workers. Unfortunately, you only get a WiFi key upon request and not immediately when you check in. I'm really sorry that I have to write such a review. But I hope that I can perhaps encourage them both to make this hotel a nice place where you can feel comfortable.Food offer:Unfortunately there is no restaurant, which is very bad considering the dining options in Dargun. At least a currywurst with fries should be possible. You are forced to go to the kebab shop 600m away to eat a mediocre kebab. Breakfast was served directly at the table, so no buffet. Basically everything you needed was here. Conclusion: I cannot and will not recommend the hotel. There is a reason why so few hotel guests are currently staying here. This needs to be completely renovated and furnished. I hope for the sake of the very nice operators that something changes here.

I just say “keep your eyes open” when choosing a hotel! We found out more about the homepage and decided that the hotel would suit us for our short visit.Checking in after a 10 hour drive on the hottest day of the summer. When we asked where we could find the restaurant, we were told 'yes, we don't have a restaurant anymore'. No possibility to get something to drink. No recommendation when asked where to go. We were advised to find out more on the internet(!) WiFi didn't work. TV didn't work. We bought drinks at the supermarket. Where there was once a refrigerator in the room there was a big 'nothing' in the closet. The room was very small and outdated, functional and clean, soap dispenser was empty, 1/2 roll of toilet paper available! Breakfast was OK. Turns out the restaurant has been around for years!!! no more, bar??? .... The website is a disgrace and is simply a mockery when you experience reality. You have to trust yourself first! With a little goodwill and little to almost no effort, you could at least give guests the opportunity to sell something cool to drink! With all my love, that's not possible!

The location right on the lake is really nice and invites you to take a walk! Overall, everything here seems to be getting very old, including in the hotel. Especially my room with the unpleasant stains on the carpet and extremely poor maintenance joints in the bathroom. There is a smoking balcony in front of the room. This is very unpleasant for non-smokers when the window is open. The host is very friendly. The breakfast is functional and therefore OK.

If you love peace and nature, this is the right place for you. Small town with some worthwhile sights: castle, Uns lütt museum, trolley, monastery lake, nature trails... Not to forget: church with carved altar. The hotel is quiet despite the street passing by. Parking right in front of the door. Very friendly staff and, most importantly, clean.
