Very quiet location, fine cuisine. We didn't try out the wellness area. We were offered bathrobes at reception if we didn't have any with us and wanted to use the wellness area.

A great hotel for one or more days (but then with a bike) to stay overnight. Sauna area small but nice, staff all super friendly. The breakfast leaves nothing to be desired and is absolutely delicious.

I can't judge the hotel. Only the restaurant has a nice atmosphere with actually nice service, but the food is the drawer or the nuisance. Therefore only given 2 stars. Some of the dishes do not correspond to the description on the menu. I don't want or want to write more.

My comment only on my experience in the restaurant:The staff was friendly and quite helpful, especially when I had to move due to smoking in the courtyard about ruining my rather nice lunch. It baffles me how restaurants, especially ones that have a "destination feel" featuring delicious seasonal specialities can allow smoking in dining areas. I came from about 2hrs. away for the day to visit the church next door, the old town and this restaurant for the monthly feature and had it in part ruined because an inconsiderate smoker had to pollute the air all around. I had to sit in a warm(er) darker indoors and would have liked to enjoy the meal and drinks in the lovely, sunny green courtyard next to the bubbling fountain, but couldn't because of the "smoking is allowed" policy. I don't understand why owners/chefs don't realize that guests come to taste and enjoy their food/specialities, not to suck in the carcinogenic air other guests spew out, and stop allowing smoking. It's disgusting and detracts from the experience of this traditional -style, comfortable atmosphere and the good food and drink. Management allowing smokers to ruin other's dining experiences is bad business and tells me as a customer the owners support this behaviour and sadly, don't care for my business.

We had booked an overnight package where we didn't feast or snooze... First things first: we were served in a friendly manner at reception, but we weren't told about the free water (it doesn't matter, you can see it) and when we asked about the date you could have noticed that it was the birthday of the person making the booking. Again, not an issue here, it happens. When we moved into the room, the first surprise: not the room that the package was advertised as. More like Gelsenkirchen baroque, with cracked walls and a nice spider shared apartment.The advertised bottle of champagne was not in the room. Wellness was out of the question due to our arrival time.Now for dinner, where despite the package we didn't receive a welcome drink because none of the employees were obviously aware of the scope or performance of the package. The lack of knowledge and the obvious lack of communication between the employees led to an unpleasant situation for almost everyone involved. The 4-course menu with wine accompaniment could only be changed for an additional charge, although this was communicated differently to the guests by certain employees (the chef) and not the restaurant manager, who then vehemently insisted on the additional charge to the guests. Enter the extremely jovial hotel owner who accuses us guests of demanding that he belittles trainees in order to enforce our concerns. An incredibly bold and completely ignorant attitude from an owner and trainer. Everything we put forward afterwards rubbed off on him. The factual arguments didn't seem relevant enough for him to respond. We received an apology from the friendly staff for the stressful evening. As far as the evening, the food and the impression left by the host in particular, unfortunately it was too late.

Unfortunately, the hotel was a bit shabby, dirty tablecloths in the garden restaurant, the TV wasn't running at first, the guest in front of us had probably pulled the power plug, it was hanging down on the device, the hangers in the cupboard were just lying there, overall the staff seemed untidy has no view of an intact room, the towels in the room seem worn and worn, the best times are a long time ago, overall the 4 stars and the price are not justified.

Very nice hotel. Always friendly and helpful staff.Only about 15 minutes on foot to the golf course, including a ferry ride across the Main.A small refrigerator in the room would have been nice (at least in midsummer😉)

As a cyclist, we booked a cheap room for €89 from the owner over the phone. My questions about the road situation and the possibility of getting something to eat seemed inappropriate. On site at 1.90m, a bed with a head and footboard just didn't fit.The discussion the next morning about the price difference of €30 did not allow for any compromises. Of course I paid for this but with a negative general criticism towards cyclists I will avoid this hotel in the future.The rooms are generally clean, tall people should ask about the type of bed and the food outside is good. Breakfast sufficient.The staff was partly unrelaxed and annoyed; I don't need that on vacation.

We're here right now, it's just fantastic. Rooms, top breakfast, very extensive, food last night was amazing 🔨 we're already looking forward to the candle light dinner this evening, we're fascinated by everything, we're here for the first time but definitely not the last We can only recommend it. Staff very friendly. Price performance unbeatable. I would actually give it ten stars but there are only five here 😂😂😂😂

On the whole we were satisfied.But with 4 stars I would have expected a minibar. Room was otherwise quite good.Food was great too.Big compliments to the kitchen.It's just a shame that we had to set our own table for breakfast. Cutlery and plates/cups were rarely available. When asked, the lady named Maria was immediately annoyed.It was also not nice that the boss audibly dressed down the young trainee in front of the guests. You just do not do that.It's also a shame that banana wheat beer is on the menu, but the banana nectar wasn't available on any of the days. In my opinion, something like that shouldn't happen with 4 stars.Otherwise, the employees were mostly very friendly and helpful.Addition after the detailed answer: Water is available free of charge, nice service.Rating increased to 4 stars

There is no way this is a four star hotel. The rooms are very old and small. The breakfast is just loveless. Used dishes are not put away and no one says good morning.Only the check in was nice. The rooms only offer the absolute minimum. There is no minibar and not even a bottle of water. When criticized, the staff appears annoyed or irritated. The actually beautifully located house definitely has potential, but we paid far too much money for an experience like in a youth hostel.

We were thrilled by the price-performance ratio in the hotel and restaurant, as well as by the beautiful town of Dettelbach. Absolutely recommended for a stopover on the way south or for holidaymakers in the wine district.
