Let me mention the positive first:Very nice location - right on the lake - with a nice outdoor restaurant in a beer garden style; Breakfast room pleasant - some with a view of the lake; the staff at reception and at the bar were very friendly!But unfortunately that's where it ends - if you expect a 4-star hotel.We had a junior suite - unfortunately only the room size was worthy of a junior suite, the rest was far from it. Furnishings outdated (which isn't a bad thing), large bathroom, but the shower without a seal on the wall/door, so that the bathroom was extremely "underwater" after showering, there was a bathtub, but there was no water coming out of the tap, repairs / Renovations were apparently only carried out in a makeshift manner (new faucet on the sink, but no lever to loosen the basin plug), extremely "cheap" equipment in the toilet/bathroom area (you probably expect in a hostel), toilet area so small that one person over 1.80m has problems going to the toilet and the toilet is so low that older people have problems getting up again, extremely noisy rooms, roller shutters - only 2 of 3 went up (which was apparently known because the door was in this one Area closed), lighting concept a catastrophe.The hotel is extremely old, cracks on the outer pillars, the sliding entrance door feels like it's about to exit, the elevator is long past its best (I preferred to take the stairs), the room cleaning was carried out on request, but not very thorough (which was unfortunately clearly visible in the bathroom).Maybe this all sounds very "small-minded", but you would expect something different from a 4-star hotel, which at first appears to be an upscale hotel - especially at these prices! Unfortunately, the price/performance ratio here is not right at all!We will no longer book this hotel and unfortunately we cannot recommend it - there are far nicer hotels on Lake Tegernsee and in this town where the price is right!

We stayed in the hotel for three nights.Service was very friendly and helpful!The rooms are quite old, but still serve their purpose.The wellness area is quite okay. Unfortunately there isn't really any signage, which is why you feel like you're "wandering around" there on your first visit. The steam sauna smelled of urine and you could hear a relatively loud humming noise in the background that alternated on and off, which was a bit annoying.Breakfast is great!

This year we also spent 14 days of vacation in the Junior Suite Deluxe in the Hotel Terrassenhof with a fantastic view of Lake Tegernsee and the Wallberg.The varied breakfast buffet with additional menu, the dining room (restaurant) and the wellness area (hotel swimming pool, whirlpool, various sauna options including snow sauna) are extremely positive.Friendly staff, a always-staffed, helpful reception and the dedicated hotelier couple ensure a carefree, relaxing holiday.Underground parking spaces with electric charging stations, a lawn and a cocktail bar in the entrance area complete the offer.The associated boathouse, which can be booked for events such as weddings, anniversaries, etc., and the sailing center are a further asset.The proximity to the iodine-sulphur bath is practical, but it is also not far to the center of Bad Wiessee. The bus stop is within walking distance.Bytheway, last year for my big birthday on vacation I was surprised with a small cake, champagne for breakfast and a serenade. There was a birthday present as a small gift at the top. Such attention is particularly noteworthy, I was totally touched.So far there have been 5 successful holidays at different times of the year in this wonderful atmosphere and we are already looking forward to the next time.5 points for rooms, service and location.The room service staff could be motivated a little better, bathroom cosmetic accessories are not always replenished. Since the service car is accessible, the guest can also help themselves if necessary. A minor negative point, but it doesn't affect the rating because the regular service staff works well and only temporary staff work quickly. You can also overlook it.

I have been to many hotels in different countries. This is the first time that I feel compelled to leave a negative review on Google to warn travelers of what awaits them at the Hotel Terassenhof: A worn-out hotel room, the worst service you can get, and unfriendly hotel staff (a gentleman at the... Reception was very nice - the rest 🤐...).Why bad service? WE HAD ANTS IN THE ROOM! ON THE FLOOR AND IN THE BED!!!If I had been in a good hotel where good service and the well-being of the hotel guests were the top priority - then we would have received some kind of "compensation" in the form of a new hotel room. But when I spoke to the hotel staff, I quickly realized that this wasn't allowed or that's what it was signaled to us. Discount, a gift, something... - but nothing came. The least they could do was: the hotel staff removed the ants and used insect spray. Successful - we didn't see any more ants, but still: it was a disgusting experience and a disgusting stay in that hotel room.When I look at the comments I notice that I wasn't the only one with a negative experience here. In the hotel we also noticed how other guests stomped away annoyed and resigned after the exchange with the hotel staff... Really a disaster for a 4 star hotel. When I look at the hotel's reactions to negative reviews here on Google, I notice that people often respond with a defensive attitude. This doesn't have the same effect on readers as it would if people were open to feedback here.Plus points: The breakfast in the restaurant was very good and the spa services were also good. Well - overall I will definitely not recommend this hotel. We were very disappointed.
