I was a business guest at the hotel over a long weekend,The staff was friendly and accommodating upon arrival.However, the room was outdated and very careless. The terrace had a wonderful view of the roof of the wellness area, which was littered with cigarette butts and other rubbish. I found the yellow watering can with the inscription “Gieß mich” funny, which meant the sad plants on the railing of the terrace that had seen better days.On the subject of WiFi, a short announcement to the previous owner of the Amazon Fire TV Stick is due to the information! You probably forgot to take it with you in your anger about the non-existent WiFi.That brings us to the next point: I hope you don't need WiFi because it doesn't work (at least in the room assigned to me).When I complained about this the next morning, I was allowed to listen to the following explanation from the receptionist.“When an ICE goes into a tunnel you no longer have reception because the sound waves can no longer follow” I still wonder whether my room was a tunnel or an ICE in the metaphor? Unfortunately, I was so irritated by the statement that I needed some time to think about it.No matter, she made a note for her boss, who promptly took care of it. He then tried to align the access point without success, then another antenna without success. I waited anxiously in my room and watched to see whether the reception would improve. He contacted me on the house phone and asked if I had 5 minutes left, I said yes and said “you also have 20 minutes”After 20-30 minutes with no response, I left the room and found him on a tour with guests (I'm not the only guest, everything was ok) after that he never contacted me again, so the topic was over.Conclusion:If you want to deal with your inner demons in the evening loneliness and seclusion with a view of nothing then ask for room 49 where you can stare at the wall!To end on a positive note, the Gasthaus zur Linde on the main street is a great class 5*, stop by and you won't be disappointed!!!

We were guests at a wedding in this beautiful hotel on September 14th, 2024 and it was simply fantastic!The historic interior and the old water mill give the place a very special charm. The entire design was lovingly thought out down to the last detail.The service was first class and the staff were incredibly friendly - especially Steffanie, who took great care of us.The food was excellent and the garden, where part of the celebration took place, was beautifully maintained.The owner of the house himself was a wonderful host, with whom I immediately got along well. If I ever need a trailer, I know where to find one (laughs).All in all, an unforgettable day in a perfect location. Absolute recommendation!

The hotel was an insider tip for me for a short weekend break: everything was excellent - the quiet location in nature (20 minutes walk to the beautiful reservoir), the room, the food in the restaurant (excellent cuisine), the friendly service , the pretty swimming pool... but the real pearl is the huge garden with lots of trees by the small stream, that was my favorite place to relax and read. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Thank you for the great stay. I was there with a group and it was a super relaxed stay. It was an all-round carefree package for the group. The mill team took perfect care of everything and left nothing to be desired. I can simply recommend it.

Top motorcycle hotel that leaves nothing to be desired for bikers of all walks of life. We were warmly welcomed and the service, staff and food (breakfast/dinner) were simply perfect.There are clean and dry garages for the bikes and the boss is open to all requests.You even get route suggestions and maps for various tours that are tailored exactly to your needs. If you want, you can even rent a motorbike if you feel like trying something new.Simply great, keep it up, we'll be happy to come back!

We were guests as a motorcycle group (6 people). I felt comfortable from the first second. Garage parking for the bikes, very nice (beer) garden, very good food and very friendly hosts (& staff) with good travel tips for our trips. Highly recommended, will definitely come back!

"Quality has its price" - This statement becomes difficult, however, if the quality is not there.Such is the case with this hotel/restaurant.The food is, if anything, below average.However, the prices are comparable to high-class hotels or restaurants with outstanding cuisine.For reference: A small portion of sauerbraten costs €20. The side salad costs another €6.90.After the first complaint and now 2 attempts, the dumpling was still not done. The salad was soggy. The other portion of dumplings, which was served as a side dish for €12.90, was also not cooked through but they didn't even offer to cook them again until they were cooked through.The prices are absolutely disproportionate to the food that is served there. So not even close.I am sure that the hotel has seen better times and certainly still benefits from the positive reputation of the past. It was also recommended to us.The operators would hope that they get at least a minimum level of quality from the kitchen, even in times of staff shortages. The waiter didn't seem to care either, or he had already capitulated in the situation and wasn't behind what he was bringing to the table.At least he tried to lighten the situation with casual sayings.There is an extra star for the location, more specifically the beer garden, which has a really nice charm.That's the only thing I would give one star to after this experience.In summary: Location with potential that has its best days behind it and food that was really bad.

Arrival at 5 p.m.: no one there, rang the bell three times - no one comes, you can hear someone putting away cutlery, but no one responds. At some point someone, friendly, came to check in. When we asked if we could have dinner in the restaurant today, we were told that they only had one cook until 7 p.m. - well, we tasted it, it was ok, but it was also needed no repetition. This hotel seems to be permanently understaffed (see other reviews). The renovated family rooms were advertised on the website, unfortunately there was only one room from the 70s available to us, hence the disappointment, perhaps. It should be better pointed out that there are also old rooms like this; at a price of €165 per night, I assumed they were renovated rooms. The view of the garden was very nice, the room was clean, unfortunately without a refrigerator or glasses, only paper cups were available, but we were able to borrow 2 glasses from the restaurant. There were no bathrobes, the batteries in the safe were empty, as were the feminine hygiene bags. Cleaning only on request. Unfortunately, the pool does not correspond to the pictures and is very small, also adjacent to the economy, privacy 0. Good for two people or for children, too small for several people to swim, perhaps. Would there be a bookable time slot where you can add yourself to a list or something similar? The sauna is nice and hot, but adjacent to the pool, textile-free. the children difficult. The garden had a lot of potential, unfortunately there isn't much to offer for a comfortable stay, the lounge has no cushions and is dirty, the pond and the Kneipp facility are overgrown and inaccessible, there are hardly any outdoor loungers and you don't want to use the ones that are there. The garden house was delivered and also not open. It's a shame, it would have been nice to read a book in our own beautiful complex, so all you had left was your own room. You can notice that savings are being made everywhere, but generally friendly staff, the breakfast is sufficient and with fresh rolls, croissants, bread and pretzels from the bakery, there is fruit and vegetables as well as lactose-free milk, various muesli, and everything you would expect from a buffet expected. We would probably come back, at different prices.

We felt very comfortable. The service was always nice and always had great tips for excursions. The breakfast was great, there was always fresh products. Dinner was also always very tasty. The family room was great in size/balcony with a view of the greenery. Thank you very much for the lovely week.

Not a 4 star hotel. Nice garden but unkempt.Dinner not a big selection, small portions, very expensive. Breakfast very little and cheap ingredients. Tablecloth with stains, towels are not changed automatically.The staff reacts annoyedly when asked.At 10 p.m. everything is closed, whether bar, swimming pool, sauna or kitchen.The rooms are either old-fashioned or much too small (deluxe rooms).No quiet hotel on the weekend, some kind of celebration every Saturday, for example a wedding party, birthday party, etc.In addition, outrageous treatment with false accusations (Steffi from reception extremely unfriendly / disrespectful).I am totally disappointed in the bosses (senior & junior) that the hotel has developed from a feel-good hotel to such poor accommodation in recent years.Don't come back again.

I can only rate the restaurant based on a pre-registered one.It is well furnished, you immediately feel at home. There is a good selection of food and drinks. The service is friendly.Shortly afterwards we wanted to have coffee there after a walk at the Happurg reservoir. We were sent away because we couldn't do it that Sunday for personnel reasons.Yes, that may well have been the case. But I would have liked more sensitivity from the person at reception. Furthermore, advertising at the lake should be better designed to avoid such surprises.

This afternoon we were walking at the Happurger Stausee and noticed a sign pointing to the Kainsbacher Mühle. Homemade cakes were advertised and there was a sign saying We are open. A walk of around 15 minutes was indicated. When we got there there was no cake and the kitchen was also closed. Well, what a shame!

Not a 4 star hotel!The hotel and the furnishings are very outdated and do not invite you to have a nice wellness weekend. The beds are also very old, which is why we didn't sleep well at night. The bathroom is also very run down and urgently needs to be renovated. The hotel staff doesn't take care of the garden, which is why it is pretty unkempt and people don't like spending time there.Accordingly, the hotel does not seem inviting in any way and we did not feel comfortable there.In addition, the food is far too expensive in terms of portion sizes and the selection of the breakfast buffet.In addition, the hotel does not offer any options for ending the evening nicely, as everything (sauna, bar, reception, etc.) closes at 10 p.m. Unfortunately you can't go out outside the hotel either, as it is in a small village and there is no option to do anything in the area. We spent the evenings in the room.The biggest drawback, however, was the very unfriendly and rude receptionist. It's really shocking how the guests are treated here!We won't be coming back!
