Best class trip by far. Heavy breakfast. Huge rooms (if you get the renovated ones, definitely). Fierce football pitch. Anyone who goes there with their class knows that your teachers love you. Trust me I've been in worse places.

Beautiful youth hostel with well-furnished rooms, nice common areas and a large selection at breakfast. The location is great on the edge of the old town in a park with plenty of space for children, free parking possible nearby, very nice reception.

Beautiful youth hostel, for us as a family of 4 one of the best in Germany. The youth hostel is located in part of a monastery right on the edge of the old town of Burghausen. The famous castle can be explored directly from there on foot.The youth hostel area is very large and spacious. Thanks to the fencing, the children can romp around here safely and for a long time. Great facility! We particularly liked the bright breakfast area, the lobby and the inner courtyard.The highlight was the very varied breakfast. The team comes up with new ideas every day and sometimes surprises with homemade fresh waffles.We had a family room with a double bed and a bunk bed. Very well thought out furnishings with plenty of storage space and sockets.The youth hostel is very suitable for a short trip or a longer stay.We'd love to come back next year!!

We were here with the choir and it was very nice. The food was quite good, the rooms were clean and there were nice rehearsal and performance rooms. What was absolutely not nice was the boss. She snapped at us and couldn't give normal criticism. Otherwise okay. Iced tea nice, boss not.

What a great youth hostel!The family room was equipped with a double bed and bunk beds, with a shower/toilet and blackout curtains. Everything is modern and in great shape.The location is beautiful with a view of the castle or the Salzach. You can reach the beautiful old town on foot. You can drive directly to the door to unload, and there is a free parking space a few minutes' walk away.The outdoor facilities are nice, in addition to the soccer field and table tennis tables, there are swings, a playground for very young children and hammocks.The food was good and varied, the kitchen staff were very friendly and accommodating.When we went (end of March), lots of outdoor seating and umbrellas were being set up - which is definitely nice in the summer.The only point of criticism: in other youth hostels there were nicer lounges for families.

We (parents with three kids, ages 6, 9 and 13) stayed at the youth hostel over New Year's Eve and were all completely thrilled.The staff put so much effort and love into organizing the New Year's Eve (and other things) that really touched us! The food is delicious, the rooms and the house are generally quite new, and there is also a spacious outdoor area.We'll definitely be back!!

We went there as a couple in August for a short cultural vacation.As with most things at DJH, the location for exploring is simply unbeatable.The twin room with shower and toilet, everything was quite spacious, the beds were pleasantly hard, breakfast was excellent, dinner was definitely better than what you get in town.The youth hostels have reached a standard that is far above the usual hotels. We are planning to continue working with DJH into old age, so we would recommend it to others.

We stayed here for three nights and the staff were always friendly and helpful.The room had everything you needed, unfortunately it wasn't clean (cobwebs in the corners, dusty surfaces, stains on the wall), the breakfast was disappointing (the rolls were at least two days old), fine as a stopover.The location to the old town, lake and castle was great.

We have just returned from our vacation at the Burghausen youth hostel and are absolutely thrilled!I went to the "program" 1 1/2 Knights with my two children, which revolves around the castle and the film by Til Schweiger.The program includes, among other things, a campfire, a film evening with popcorn, a knight's rally and a visit to the interactive city museum.All the employees were always friendly, gave tips for excursions, booked program items according to our wishes and were always open to requests for changes.The house is extremely lovingly furnished - not at all how you would imagine a youth hostel to be. The rooms are modern, equipped with a shower, sink and toilet and have a harmonious color concept. Around the house there is a well-maintained, large park-like garden that invites you to unwind.The food is without exception delicious and leaves nothing to be desired. A rich breakfast buffet, where you can even bake your own waffles on Sunday, gives you a good start to the day. There's even lactose-free milk and yoghurts at the buffet! In the evening there is a large salad buffet with various dressings, at least 2 main courses and always a dessert.Our conclusion: A really great youth hostel.And the nice thing is - the children quickly get to know other children, make “friends” and enjoy their holidays with others.Thank you very much for the wonderful time with you.

We (2 adults, 2 children) were in the Burghausen youth hostel for the second time. This time unfortunately only for one night on our way to Italy. Like last year, everything was great. Rooms spacious, clean, very warm welcome, great breakfast with lots of choice, freshness and taste. Location great. We'll definitely be back.

We spent three wonderful nights in this beautiful youth hostel. The location is simply unique, the beautiful old town of Burghausen is within walking distance. We will certainly be happy to come back. However, we would not book the packed lunch again. The price-performance ratio is not right here.
