The hotel is located remotely in the southern Harz. The house has its own very beautiful park. If you leave this you are directly at the forest.Wild comes into the park.Anyone looking for peace and quiet in nature will find it here.

We vacationed there and were very satisfied except for 2 things. 1) WiFi was not possible for us in the building. The internet connection was blocked after a minute and emails were not forwarded.2) Since I have walking difficulties, I had to use the elevator because our room was on the 2nd floor. In the elevator, however, it often took up to 3 minutes for the door to open.I would like to emphasize the friendliness of the staff, who immediately fulfilled my every request, and the tasty buffet, which completely met our needs with changing dishes.

Great quiet hotel. Pleasant atmosphere. Very nice room with living area and bedroom, as well as a pool without a whirlpool. Suffering WiFi and no cell phone reception. The only flaw.Food good and plentiful. Tasty.

A beautiful old hotel with very nice staff, although chronically understaffed, in an idyllic location, a place of peace. Lots of nature, far from the beaten track. Anyone who wants to get out and switch off for a while is in good hands here. Not for party freaks. Unfortunately the food wasn't great, the quality fluctuated. Nice little sauna and good, inexpensive massages. Despite small defects, I have been coming back for years.

Top hotel, clean, everything works and well maintained. Very remote location, ideal for finding peace and a great starting point for hiking.Staff friendly and eager to help (taxi requests, local attractions, etc.). Hotel bar good selection and delicious cocktails.Had half board and had great food. Very happy againOne thing can/must be improved. The hotel WiFi! Slowly and constantly you fly out. However, since you have zero reception (different providers), it is important in today's world to improve

We had booked a girls' trip from Friday to Sunday with wellness.A very nice complex and quiet location.Unfortunately, WiFi is very poor, not at all in the room and only sporadically outside.Staff very nice 👍🏻.Masseur very friendly and knows what he's doing! Gladly again.Food was great, lots of choice - warm and...Cold dishes are all available.Cleanliness was okay. Certainly something could be improved.The history behind the hotel is very exciting and you can also look at old pictures and documents.

We regularly visit Travdo Hotels and were surprised on the first day because this hotel was already different from the others. Very remote - car absolutely necessary, very nice house on the outside, quiet in the forest. Rooms small, but with a fridge - a clear plus point. The food was ok, despite the few guests, there was a good selection - not everything from the daily menu was there, but not bad. Filling up sometimes took a while for staff reasons, but we had it. Sauna ok, nice seating outside. If you want to hike or cycle, you can take a vacation there.

The room I had was standard. Nothing special but not bad either. You have what you need.Unfortunately there is almost no service. At the evening buffet you have to get your own drinks from a large drinks fridge and put back the bottle that has already been opened. Nice? I don't know. The sauna is very small, but since you have to sign up for it on a list, it can comfortably accommodate up to 3 people. It would only have been good if you had been told when checking in that you had to turn the sauna on and preheat it yourself. And of course turn it off again. Once you know this, you save yourself having to sit in the “cold” for 20 minutes.Thanks to the quiet location, cell phone reception and mobile data are non-existent. The in-house WiFi (1 router for the entire house) is also really weak. Of course, nothing else matters about the room.So if you can do without luxury and internet, you can really recommend the hotel for the low price. By car you can reach “everywhere” where there is something going on in about 30 minutes.The food is OK. The selection of dishes is well chosen, but the dishes could have been a little better seasoned (of course it's all a matter of taste)

As a former lung sanatorium, the hotel is beautifully and quietly located in the middle of the forest. The location is great for relaxation. The air is very good, provided the smokers are in another corner ;-) Consideration is a thing in itself. The large lawn with terrace and Hollywood swings invites you to sunbathe or sit under an umbrella in the rain.I came by train. A bus runs from Ellrich to Sülzhayn-Sonnenfels at regular intervals. From there it's about a 15 minute walk to the hotel. There are no shops in Sülzhayn. In Ellrich there is a pharmacy and a few bakers, and in another part of the city there are also grocery stores. Some of the places have been wonderfully restored, but unfortunately in some places you can also see decaying houses.The room was very nice, also suitable for disabled people. I didn't need that, but I certainly enjoyed the large bathroom.The staff were all very friendly and helpful. However, they are also very busy. The lady at the reception was also responsible for the bar and later worked in the restaurant. I was wondering when the ladies take a break (not at all?).The massages with Mr. Heidelberg were good.Overall, the vacation was very nice, but unfortunately I have to deduct one point. The food was very easy on the stomach, i.e. bland. I didn't expect gourmet cuisine for the low price. I found it a bit special that no spices were used at all and there wasn't even any salt (no spice!) on the fries. The chef is welcome to stop by the Spice Museum in Hamburg and find out about seasoning options there. In terms of quantity it was okay, I was full. Drinks are included as part of half board: water, lemonade, juices, beer, open wines.If you just want to relax and enjoy some good air, you're in good hands here.

Nice place, far away from the hustle and bustle, the rooms are ok (we had a normal, small standard room), the parking lot was big enough, it only cost €2.00 per night, the food was sufficient (half board with drinks). There is also a beautiful garden with benches and swings.The old elevator from the last century and the colorful windows are interesting

When we checked in, we were immediately informed that a Dutch bus tour group was coming and that they had priority at meal times, i.e. first round. So for us, the late dinner time was an option, although that was too late for dinner. Furthermore, the Dutch tour group was allowed to take their all-inclusive drinks into their rooms or consume them on the outside terrace, the Germans were not. In my opinion, this violates the principle of equal treatment. We would have liked to enjoy our beer or wine outside in the nice weather at the specified time. The meal sessions, each lasting 1 1/2 hours, remind us of the deepest GDR, not even 5 minutes early in the restaurant. We've never experienced anything like this before. The rooms were clean and fine.

For us, this was the worst vacation of the travdo Hotels & Resorts we visited. No real WiFi, no telephone connection to the cell phone. We didn't really like the food. There wasn't even non-alcoholic beer. Our conclusion is that we will no longer come here if nothing changes.
