The staff is very friendly, they ask what excursions are planned and don't give any tips. Always friendly and helpful at breakfast.Defects such as a broken lamp and soap dispenser in the room were immediately remedied. There is a small indoor swimming pool with a pool in the basement. I found the water a bit cool, but this is a matter of opinion. Towels are available there.

We (2 adults and 4 year old child) stayed at the Hohenauer Hof for 5 days / 4 nights during the summer holidays - triple room, overnight stay with breakfast. Stayed in the next house. The room was clean and tidy. Small TV. Balcony with two chairs and table. So far the first hotel where there was no telephone in the room. There is also a small indoor swimming pool with salt water in the basement of the neighboring house. There are also extra towels and two showers. The water and the “hall” are pleasantly warm. Unfortunately everything is getting a bit old.The breakfast was simple, but completely sufficient with rolls, toast, a bit of sausage and cheese, muesli, various cornflakes, two different yoghurts, scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, sausages. Breakfast is from 7 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. It's a shame that nothing was refilled after 9 a.m. and, for example, the container for scrambled eggs was also cleared away.In the evening you could eat at the buffet from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. for €21.50 per adult; our 4 year old child was allowed to eat for free. We ate there on three evenings. There was a salad buffet, three main courses (one of them vegetarian) and a dessert. For our child there was schnitzel or nuggets with fries, which didn't cost anything extra. Everything tasted very good. What should definitely be highlighted is our lovely waitress Klaudia, who is really on the ball and can see straight away if someone needs something.Unfortunately there isn't that much in Hohenau, but there is a lot to discover and experience in nearby Grafenau and Freyung. Other experiences in the Bavarian Forest are also easy to reach.

I stayed at the Hohenauer Hof with a tour group. The room with a balcony scored with a very tidy and attractive ambience. A kettle and refrigerator completed the overall picture.Used the exercise pool every day, ideal before breakfast. The sauna is functional and sufficient.Tasty breakfast buffet and sufficient in size.Evening buffet varied and of a good standard. It's a pity that there was no local fish - trout. The host couple and all the service staff were extremely friendly and accommodating.Really a relaxing holiday. Thanks to the Passau-Hohenau bus connection, it's easy to reach by public transport next time. The only drawback: As with many other hotels, waste separation needs to be optimized.
