I have been a guest at this hotel several times a year for a good 12 years. Everything is just right here for me. The rooms are very nicely furnished, the hotel is absolutely dog-friendly and the food leaves nothing to be desired. Whether vegetarian or, upon request, vegan - everything is possible. The personnel is very friendly and courteous.I cannot confirm the review in which it was written that there would be no vegetarian starter soup. Because even if there wasn't one on the menu, a vegetarian option was always offered upon request!Since I visit there several times a year with groups, I can also say that there are almost never problems that cannot be solved. The hotel always has an open ear, even for special requests.

This was our third time in the Bavarian Forest and unfortunately it got worse each time. In 2019 the food was fantastic, in 2023 and 2024 it was just okay. In 2019, it was still possible to cater to special diets, while in 2024 it was no longer even possible to consistently eat vegan food. Unfortunately, one person in our travel group was treated in a downright unfriendly manner, which really disappointed me. Our food (both vegetarian and whole food) was nothing special, you could taste some cheap ingredients and it was under the heat lamp for a long time. Of the 2 soups to choose from, there was almost never a vegetarian option, as almost everything was served in beef broth. After the wonderful stay in 2019, we expected a lot more and were disappointed.Still three stars because the hotel was absolutely dog-friendly and still has a wonderful location. Taking an assistance dog with you to the breakfast area was no problem, nor was it a problem at dinner in the restaurant. The breakfast was still good, except for the fact that there was spilled milk on the buffet. We particularly liked the selection of fresh vegetables and fruit at breakfast, as well as the eggs. The wellness area was also pleasant (at least outside of the school holidays) as there was very little going on here. However, the house and especially the changing rooms could use an upgrade in the next few years. (Calcified shower heads and lots of old tiles with cheap lockers for private things. That no longer fits with the charm of the rest of the house.)The conversations with the (former) owners who had their apartment in our building next door were particularly nice. They were very accommodating.Overall, it wasn't worth the money and unfortunately we won't be coming back.

We had a wonderful, relaxing and above all delicious wellness weekend. Big praise to the team and the chef! We have never eaten so consistently well - the 6-course menu was a dream. Beautiful, clean wellness area, well-renovated rooms and only adult guests, simply perfect for couples. We'll be back as soon as possible, next time in summer for biking and hiking!

For our family trip, we were looking for a hotel with breakfast that had a small wellness area (indoor pool, whirlpool, outdoor sauna, etc.) and where there were no quiet areas so that we could chat and laugh without …

The room was very nice and cozy. Two armchairs with a table and a large television. Everything is modern and still quite new. Unfortunately no desk! The bathroom is small but absolutely sufficient! The service at reception was top. The lady was very friendly and took me to the room. The colleague at check-out the next morning, on the other hand, could be a little friendlier. The breakfast buffet was good but also clear. The stairwells, hallways and also the breakfast room are unfortunately a bit old and sometimes they smell very musty.

However this hotel gets good reviews......Thank God we were only there for 4 days! The food was terrible: hard meat, warm Maggi soup, rubbery, tasteless dumplings and so on.The couch in the room had torn corners on both armrests and the carpet was stained. There was a crack in the toilet bowl and the holder for the toilet brush was already hanging out of the wall.We weren't the only ones who complained about the food.
