Room OK, bathroom too small, toilet not clean. Cleaning leaves something to be desired. Lots of dust under the bed. The drain from the sink could not be adjusted. Room door warped.Breakfast always the same no variety orange juice diluted with water not changed despite complaints. Dinner was partly good. Conclusion: I will never book Birkenhof again.

Hotel partly corresponds to 3 *. Location is good and quiet. When it comes to rooms, it depends on which one you get. Partly newly renovated with a new bathroom, partly completely worn out, musty and dirty. House 1 seemed neater to me than House 2.Breakfast acceptable, although always the same selection, dinner corresponds to canteen food from the buffet. No permanent space allocation,but always looking for space.I went out to eat in the evening.Positive: The thermal baths and outdoor pool are quite nice and the service staff are good and friendly. Wishes are fulfilled immediately.Conclusion: If you want to travel for little money, you're in good hands here, but it's a mass fare here.My tip for the hotel management:Completely renovate House 1 and House 2, including the restaurant. Offer higher quality food but raise prices. This gives the hotel its former glory again.

We booked feel-good days, but the reality was different. Construction work, was woken up by the hammer drill, musty smell throughout the house, stained carpeting in the room too, smeared walls in the hallway, drain fan in the very small bathroom doesn't work, reception very unfriendly, overall not recommended!!

Have to agree with the comments. Hotel is getting old, outdated, renovation work is needed. The mattress was hard, needed a topper. Ordered new pillows. WiFi router doesn't work - only with password in the lobby!!!!! What era do we actually live in???? Relaxation and thermal bath or not!!!! Is an indoor swimming pool with tap water!!!The musty, musty smell in the room was disgusting on top of that. An aroma spray didn't help. Booked a comfort room and there was a chain smoker on the balcony next door.A really big topic is the evening buffet. Soup, various salads, three dishes to choose from, dessert. So far so good, unfortunately the chef has never heard of spices, there is no salt, but there is spaetzle on the cheese, little cheese and not salty either. Owai? The sauces are consistently unbound, watery, disgusting. The desserts are either neutral...chocolate pudding with a lot of knots e.g. B. Who can manage that a guest's passion fruit cream is artificial and totally sweet (prepackaged). So gaining weight or looking forward to eating is a total non-starter.In addition, the dining rooms are far too small for the hotel's occupancy. Please arrive at 7.30 a.m. for breakfast and 5 p.m. for dinner, otherwise it will be crowded, loud and very busy. Cutlery will run out and you will have to wait until new plates, cutlery, etc. are available again.The underground parking spaces are far too narrow - only 2 small cars can go from pillar to post - €6.50 each - too expensive.Because of the afternoon coffee/tea, you don't necessarily have to show up, the cake costs extra.The containers in the yard, the blockages in the house, broken floors, torn wallpaper in the room, construction noise every now and then, at inopportune times.Quiet at lunchtime!!!????Conclusion: it can be done better.I wouldn't recommend anyone to book there, especially if you can't walk very wellwas happy to be home again!Conclusion: never go there again!Best regardsSpend a little more money and have good memories of a vacation.

We've been at the Birkenhof for a week now but never again. I said when booking, please no bathtub. I was told it was fine. When we arrived we were given a double room with a bathtub. We then complained. We were assigned a room with a shower and we had to pay a lot more for the comfort room and for such a price we didn't even have a balcony. Just bullshit. Then every day chaos at breakfast and dinner. More guests than free chairs. Never again Birkenhof. Staff at reception very unfriendly.

We stayed in the hotel as a couple for 1 week at the end of September 2024. Price performance is absolutely fine.Our room was large, very clean, with a fridge, TV and balcony. The double bed was very comfortable. The furniture is getting old, but that's why it's being renovated. The staff was very friendly and helpful.The Poseidon Thermal Baths are beautiful and since they are in the house, you could easily walk there from the room with your bathrobe. The outdoor pool was big enough for swimming, the indoor pool with thermal water is for relaxing. There is also a whirlpool and a steam sauna. Everything is cleaned regularly.The food is plentiful and tasty.We were annoyed by some complainers. (Want to pay very little, but expect 5 stars?????)

The hotel, at least House 2, makes a shabby impression. We had a room on the 3rd floor. The carpet shows stains and the bathroom with tub is from the 70s. There is sometimes a musty smell in the air in the hallways.The heating is unreasonable, the wet bathing suits don't dry properly and remain clammy.The staff is friendly and attentive. We can't complain about the food. We can't understand the many negative reviews.We are currently busy with renovation work and hopefully this will include the rooms.

We're almost at the end of our vacation now. Hotel is clearly showing its age. Staff is always nice. The beds are a disaster!! Slatted frame broken, no longer adjustable. Mattresses are much too thin. I'll be happy if I can go to physiotherapy on Monday. Food is really ok for the masses of people, dining room a bit too small for all the people, luckily you can still sit outside. Thermal is ok! Dog friendly.Construction site in the basement/the path to the thermal baths is sometimes tricky with the ladders and the workers. Unfortunately, the lady from the massage goes into the basement to laugh. Asked about the massages with the funny names. Ohhh she wasn't kidding at all... we don't have any fun massages and we don't have any appointments anymore either. Yes.. then not.You can go hiking well. From day 2 we were allowed to go into the in-house underground car park (which was very nice) and no longer into the large one where you do meters.

The good first. In contrast to many other guests (especially in house 2), I was lucky with my room. Apart from the balcony, my room was clean and equipped with everything necessary apart from the defective refrigerator, which could only be inadequately replaced by a mobile replacement refrigerator.The Birkenhof garage spaces are sometimes inadequately labeled, too narrow and sometimes very far away from the hotel.The thermal spa is small, but you can definitely enjoy the warm water inside and outside (after the outdoor pool is open again).There are ambiguously worded services on the homepage and on flyers. It was promised that you could choose between a three-course menu or the buffet. There was no option at all to have a three-course meal served at the table. You always had to help yourself at the buffet. I actually don't have a problem with that either. I only expect that if I book feel-good days and are promised table service. I'll leave it open whether this is an accidentally incorrect wording or an intentional marketing scam.The food is a chapter in itself. The breakfast was uncreative, the sausage was bland, the coffee came from oversized vacuum jugs in which... The aroma is lost due to the relatively long standing time. The verdict on dinner (from the buffet!!) is even worse. Even the dinner was mostly lukewarm, bland and sometimes really not good. As I found out, the food is not prepared at Birkenhof at all, but rather purchased via a catering channel and simply reheated at Birkenhof. A possible reason for the poor quality of the food due to transport and reheating before serving.The management of the Birkenhof does not seem to be very experienced in running a business. Why are small sections of the property renovated instead of large areas and cordoned off from guests? Why are these renovations being done during the holiday season? Why are promises made in brochures, on the Internet, etc. that are then not kept? Why aren't the dishes prepared on site at the Birkenhof? Why are the access to the underground car parks and the allocation of the Birkenhof underground car parks (to those further away) not labeled in a customer-friendly way?These are just a few measures that could significantly increase guest satisfaction. And that is urgently needed.

The short trip was booked from October 24th, 2022 to October 27th, 2022 via REWE travel.My wife, daughter and me.When we arrived we were greeted in a somewhat friendly manner. All further questions could not be answered without a deep breath.First: When researching the hotel from offers, it was mentioned that it was child-friendly. Children are tolerated as much as possible. There is absolutely nothing for them. Rather, we lowered the average age from 100 to 40.The room (house 1 - 252) was a complete disgrace and just the highlight for nasal gourmets. When we entered the hotel (and we're really not picky about smells. Country air, for example, is fine) we were hit by the mustiest smell we'd ever smelled. That can happen, so we went to the second floor. The hallway already went a whole step further. The room was then smelly. It just smelled old. So really old. Older than my dear grandma. And it hasn't been there for a while.I'm not kidding! All of our clothes, which we hadn't even had in the closet for 24 hours, PROVIDLY smelled! My parents didn't want to believe us. They smelled it. Now they believe it. If my favorite jogging pants and sweater weren't there, I would exhibit them in the museum as an original smell example of self-knotted carpets from the Middle Ages. Now really no joke!The restaurant itself was very bare and uninviting. The staff extremely nice and friendly. Hearts from here to you. You probably can't do anything about the next one. The food was simply disgusting. There were potato pancakes (old and reheated), ox meat (you probably still had to hunt the ox), tomato soup (which was horribly seasoned and watered down), donuts (soggy at the bottom, sugar runny, reheated?) and chicken legs (from the rubber eagle). Cold spaghetti with chicken was served with it. Choke…The peach cream worked reasonably well. What I mean is: She just wasn't disgusting.We were promised WiFi. Hardly works. The in-house network cannot handle meshes properly and the signal in 252 was extremely weak. If you were lucky you could watch Netflix for 5 minutes.The beds were all unbearably hard. Only very thin, flat pillows and my back hurt a lot this morning. The TV was quite modern. Unfortunately quite unfunctional. All private channels were blocked.The underground car park is a challenge. As a driving instructor, it's pretty easy for me, but the scratch marks on walls and pillars paint a pattern of paint deterioration from the past that I rarely see. Countless scratches. Above all, you need good legs. By the time you get to the car from room 252, you'll have full circles on your Apple Watch.About the thermal baths: Yes, you can do it. They're actually pretty cool. Likely to be served and managed by the other operator. They share two hotels. Which only makes the already small pools even smaller.My wife, daughter and I unfortunately (or in these circumstances, even thank God) fell ill the first night. We canceled the trip and are just happy to be home.Time to take stock: Hotel Birkenhof cost us 27 hours of our lives in the car, €100 in fuel, €500 for 3 nights, of which we only had one. And it sucked.Before I go there again… No. No recommendation from me.

Was in the Birkenhof from August 12th to 19th, 24, which is still doing renovation work. I had a nice room on the second floor of the house, 1 room 247. I was particularly satisfied with the cleanliness, friendliness of the entire staff and the food (something for everyone). I would like to highlight Christina the lifeguard and the housekeeper who paid particular attention to cleanliness and location. I will come back

The hotel is getting old, WiFi and air conditioning are lacking. The outdoor facilities under every sow and there is no suction in the toilet. The food is free of spices and you always get the same thing in the morning. You'll be full because there's plenty there, but you can't make demands on it. Fruit and vegetables are not special. Apples and peppers, nothing else there. The thermal baths are great and right in the house. Plus the sauna, where you can relax.

The room was completely worn out, the carpet was greasy and stained.The underground car park was extremely narrow and completely dirty due to a construction site.The food was very modest, simple home cooking.We were there from May 14th. Stayed at this hotel until May 19, 2024 and were very disappointed. The Poseidon Therme is also in huge need of renovation.
