First of all, a nice hotel with very friendly people. In the old building the room was good, the bed was very good, as was the bathroom. However, the old, stained carpet needs to be replaced.The Sophienstüble is also really great, especially early risers receive a pot of coffee from very friendly employees from 6:00 a.m.... even before the actual breakfast (8:30 a.m. for us). Absolute top.

Our room could do with a renovation (stained carpet, mold in the shower). But it was already prepared ahead of time when we arrived. We arrived by night train, several hours late, and after an almost sleepless night we were happy to go straight to the hotelroom and to be able to get some rest. That was great service. The breakfast was OK. Since we were only in the breakfast room around 9 a.m. due to the lack of sleep from the previous night, the buffet already looked pretty emptied and unfortunately wasn't refilled much. We still found something for ourselves and started our journey home full. The price/performance ratio was okay, the staff was very friendly and the location of the hotel was very central. The train station and center were within a few minutes' walk.

Being in the middle of the city was OKThe room left a lot to be desired for the price!Breakfast was a disaster: 9:30 after 20 minutes. Finally found someone who brought us coffee, no bread, scrambled eggs only upon request and no other good selection!

I have never experienced such a bad and brazen gastronomic failure. First of all: it seems to be a very old house, which you can see in the rooms. They are getting old, but they were clean, so there is nothing to complain about. The service was always friendly and active. However, what was incredibly bad and still makes me blush in anger after two days was the gastronomic performance, although performance is definitely the wrong word here. We had a buffet for about 60 people on two evenings. One evening 29 pp were due here, on the second day 39 pp. The price is extremely sporty, but you are willing to pay something like that for corresponding culinary performance. But if you just heat up frozen vegetables listlessly and put them in chafing dishes and then put a few slices of meat on top, then it's just nothing. Among other things, there was Kassler on sauerkraut. The Kassler was simply not edible, it was unbelievable what was missing from the chafing was on the guests' plates. The accompanying sauerkraut was demonstrably taken out of the bag, warmed up and ready. As the (only) dessert, bagged milk semolina was left in a warm room over high heat for hours and then enjoyed as a soup. The following day there was the same bag of milk semolina with a slightly different color (boiled?). Just to shake your head. Broccoli casserole here means frozen broccoli, warmed up, unseasoned, and a few unheated feta cubes placed on top. You're just at a loss for words. Open vegetables are interpreted here in such a way that Leipziger Allerlei, from the frost of course, is warmed up... and that's it. You could now go through the entire buffet, which is beyond the scope. The fact is, here you have no interest in appropriate cuisine, or you simply have no idea. The whole thing was an absolute disaster! The 39€ is no longer just cheeky, it almost borders on a rip-off. Incomprehensible!!!! I can only advise everyone not to eat here. There's an Indian place around the corner where you get real culinary value for half the money (if you like Indian).

Unfortunately not as good as expected.We booked several rooms over the weekend for a family celebration and found that both the ambience and the quality of the rooms did not do justice to the price.Therefore, the guest is billed there at check-in and collected before they even see the room. We had never experienced that in Germany before.Our room was a double room and therefore sufficiently large. The beds were OK.However, the carpeting on the floor was anything but attractive, let alone clean. There was a table and a small couch. Chairs, on the other hand, are not available.There was a television but we didn't test it.The minibar refrigerator appears to be a model without a cooling function. The light is still on but not on.In our bathroom we had a shower, sink, small shelf and hairdryer, everything OK. and completely sufficient.There should be WiFi but there is no information about access anywhere.The dinner in the adjoining Sophienstübchen was very good, both in terms of service and the food and drinks.A clear recommendation for this.The breakfast, on the other hand, was significantly below standard. From dirty dishes to a partially empty buffet, we were pretty disappointed.Conclusion, we were there once, but will certainly not come back.

Most of the staff are really nice, the breakfast is good, the room is nothing. Cleaning no longer takes place unless you specifically request it with a card at the door. The fridges have been removed and an empty space remains, stained carpet, cramped bathroom. Unfortunately, it gets worse every year.
