SORAT Hotel Brandenburg

I was booked into the SORAT Hotel for business purposes for the second time.First to the positive aspects.Very friendly staff throughout, above-average breakfast, central location.There are significantly more negative points. The rooms feel like they were left in the 80s. There appears to have been no significant renovation work since then. Defective air conditioning that doesn't even provide fresh air. With current outside temperatures of ~35° during the day and >22° at night, there is no peace and quiet. The windows are soundproof, but due to the accumulated heat it is impossible to sleep with the windows closed.The biggest problem is that the entire street area in front of the hotel is covered in cobblestones, and there is an enormous volume here the entire night due to the noise from cars (due to the cobblestones). Although the speed limit in this area is 20km/h, no one sticks to it in the evening, quite the opposite.So for everyone who gets a room on the street side, with a lot of warmth from the outside, you can only keep your fingers crossed that you can relax here. I wasn't that lucky and was exhausted every morning because of the lack of sleep and went into business meetings completely unrested.Unfortunately, things weren't much different on the first visit. I had a room facing the inner courtyard directly above the outside area of ​​the restaurant.Although it is only open until 10 p.m., hotel guests loudly spent the evening drinking lots of beer until 1 a.m....There, too, there was no possibility of sleep until at least 1 hour with the window open.Another negative point is the use of the underground car park, which costs 12 euros per day.If you drive out here in the evening, the parking lot may be gone. According to the employees, there is no reservation for the parking space.I can't follow that because if I pay for it, then the parking space should be available again even after I leave. And no, I don't want to park my vehicle somewhere on a side street, which forces me to get several parking tickets during the day!Other hotels can do this better, and the hotel management may think about reservation options...My standards are generally not high (I've seen the inside of many hotels in recent years), but if I can't even find peace at night, that's a knockout criterion, at least for me.Overall, unreasonable price-performance ratio, I paid ~140€ including breakfast and parking.I was here last time.

I had breakfast with my family and my boyfriend on my birthday. The breakfast was good. The staff was courteous. Prices are okay. Parking options behind the building with ATMs or parking discs.

Room 126A very nice hotel.The room was large and had enough space.It's worth taking a walk around the hotel, there are beautifully decorated seating areas everywhere.Parking is difficult in Brandenburg, so the hotel parking garage is a good thing.Breakfast was delicious and the selection was huge.The staff was nice, only the bartender had no idea how to pour beer.But I thought it was cute how he tried to feel the glass of beer.But the annoying foam made it a bit difficult for him.That made my day.Room service is a cool idea, and some hotels can learn something from it.You don't have to clean the rooms every day and if you need something, you can get it at the reception.Overall, this is my first choice when it comes to hotels in Brandenburg.The only suggestion for improvement is to install air conditioning.Hope to see you again soonBest regardsAndreas Mentz

Nie location in the idea part of the city. Hotel is neat and clean. Air conditioning doesn't really seem to work, but the window can be opened 😁

If, like me, you can't sleep in a French bed with your partner, you should look for another hotel. According to information from the reception, all rooms have French beds. Since my partner is taller and heavier than me, I constantly rolled into the middle of the bed, which is only 1.60 m wide. I then tried lying on the floor for a few hours, but I couldn't really get a restful sleep there either. What a shame! Otherwise everything was fine, staff friendly and everything was clean. Since sleeping or the bed is the most important thing about staying in a hotel, I can only give it one star overall.

If you don't like a French bed, this is the wrong place for you.

The SORAT in Brandenburg an der Havel is centrally located in the old town, which is beautiful to look at. In the hotel itself I experienced a very attentive and very friendly staff. Very commendable!There is an underground car park that can be reached directly from the hotel using the elevator. With around 30 parking spaces and 80+ rooms, a high utilization of the garage can generally be expected; I still found two or three free places. The access to the parking spaces requires some maneuvering due to the numerous support pillars and the spaces are not overly wide, but the situation is still within reason for a hotel underground car park in general (no points deducted for this from me).All in all I was very satisfied and would firstly like to come back and secondly give a clear recommendation.
