Avoid if you don't want to discover what the Schnauze is - typical Berlin aggressiveness. The interlocutor is incredibly hostile to those who have not read the contract and have not called the day before to get the entry codes which supposedly change every day. FYI, the codes do not change (I resist the urge to write them here) and remain the same so this person takes pleasure in attacking you for free.We found ourselves in front of the door, she refused to give the codes and made us wait 1 hour, suggesting to me that perhaps I would not be able to access the room. I was with my 75 year old mother so a little bit of stress wasn't really useful. This person only speaks in German which does not facilitate exchanges, I asked a waiter at the café where we were waiting to help me to understand the 2 codes without giving him the address of the pension and the person refused repeating the codes while calling me the stupidest person in the world. At the same time, you must pay only in cash the following morning. My daughter went to get money from the bank but then I received a second email that was as insulting as possible.Regarding the rooms, they are dated with plastic flowers everywhere, sheets not spotless and the owner had turned off the cold water so no flushing and impossible to take a shower because the water was boiling. On the 2nd day we found a tap to turn on the cold water. My advice is to run away, there are places and people so much more welcoming in Berlin.I can't resist the pleasure of copying the first email received which she translated with Deepl into English: "Why are you at our door? If you have read the booking contract, which we expressly asked you to do, then you know that you can only enter the house if you call us one day before arrival. With this call you will receive 2 code numbers with which you can enter our house once. You will then find your personal keys there. You can then use these to re-enter the house whenever you leave. Why are you ringing? Is it written somewhere in our contract that you should ring?????? We are not in the house - this is also stated in the contract - and therefore there are code numbers with which you can check in. We have also sent you all this in English.Obviously, you are not able to read properly and have done everything wrong. Now you must wait until our telephone service gets the code numbers for you so that you can get them later. We wonder why we wrote everything to you before. ????????? You don't seem to be very clever because that's not how it works! What are you thinking? We have found out that you are annoying our telephone service because you don't understand anything. Then you also talk to strangers, which is absolutely forbidden. You can't ask strange men to give us their code numbers!!!! You are not in your right mind. Do you want strange men to come into our house later and attack you?????You are the biggest problem we have ever had here and we have guests from all over the world. You can read everything in the booking confirmation. So don't tell us now that you haven't had “something like this” before! If you had stuck to the rules in the contract, you wouldn't have any problems today. We clearly wrote “please read everything carefully so that you don't have any problems at check-in!” Do you think we wrote it like that for fun???? We very much hope that you won't annoy our telephone service again today and then please don't annoy any other guests in our hotel. We forbid you to bother other guests just because you don't understand! We are stunned by so much stupidity and then you are also cheeky instead of apologizing for causing us so much trouble.Translated with DeepL.com (free version)"The 2nd email didn't go through but I won the award for worst customer of the last 80 years. Well we still laugh about it but when you don't like your job, you have to change.

Danger! Danger! Just don't book!Absolutely terrible owner taking reservations. I have never experienced such horribly rude treatment towards a customer. I was only able to post a review now, even though the booking was made 2 years ago. Unforgettable. Review was blocked on Google by the owner. But Google saw it.You are literally threatened, given house arrest and the like because you once asked on the phone. By the way: you just have to read the answers to the customers' complaints below and you'll get the tone, ideology and aggressiveness straight away. But if you have a room there, breakfast and the lady who works there are very good and nice. I saved my friends the stress and they were able to enjoy it, which I also communicated via email, but the owner wasn't kind about that either. House arrest against me, as I said, because I asked something on the phone...! How sick can you be?Case for consumer protection.--------------------------------------two days later:Look at this lady's answer.Aggressive and full of hate and she publishes a private address,Of course this has legal consequences. As already mentioned above, the fact that I was satisfied with my visit was due to the very nice lady in service and the beautiful rooms. But the comment from the owner, whose main job is insulting other people, speaks for itself. No comment.Incidentally, this message of mine is only coming now because it caused the previous comment to be blocked by Google. I just saw that recently.

We spent five days in the beautiful October month in the apartment of the Hotel-Pension on Rüdesheimer Platz and can highly recommend it. The apartment is spacious, with nice furniture in the living room, with a good bedroom, a spacious kitchen and a large bathroom. Here you can live like at home and prepare your own breakfast, lunch and dinner if necessary. The apartment is quietly and peacefully located on a high ground floor on Spessartstrasse in one of the best areas of Berlin. Due to illness in the family, we had to cancel a prepaid stay in September at short notice, but were well compensated for this when we returned in October. Thank you for five great days in Berlin. We'd love to come back! With greetings from Inger og Halvor, Oslo, Norway.

Luckily there wasn't even an overnight stay. Very bad and insulting communication from the employees of the “reservation department”.Nobody should have to deal with that, so clearly absolutely NOT a recommendation.Berlin has plenty of other nice accommodations where you will be treated warmly and hospitably.Addendum: I withdrew the request after offensive communication. But thank you for the little sample you give here so that you can see straight away what you can expect.

The hotel-pension is an apartment in a period building with 7 rooms, the furnishings are exactly that of a house from times gone by, with paintings, armchairs, curtains, upholstery and many ornaments. Overlooking Rudesheimer Square, on summer afternoons you can relax at the outdoor tables and enjoy a glass of wine for sale in the kiosk.I congratulate the very kind Sri Lankan lady who welcomes guests in the morning. The residential neighborhood is very nice and the metro stop is just a few steps away.Negative notes:- breakfast is no longer served (although you can help yourself in the numerous bars and bakeries below)- booking is a bit cumbersome, remember to call the day before arrival to get the access codes to the building (they will not be sent to you via email for security reasons)p.s. my mother found her comment from 2012 in the attendance book, written when she was a guest with my father. It was a beautiful memory

I lived in the hotel guesthouse for almost two months and I really don't understand the unfriendly comments here. I was provided with a clean and beautiful room, and the host, Dagmar, treated me like family. She often asked me if I needed anything and if I had a good time in Berlin. She did her best to give me everything I needed. When I left we had a delicious breakfast together and Dagmar even gave me a nice present! I would say that Dagmar is really a friendly and very attentive host!

The two of us were there for 2 days and were super satisfied. We like the feel of the old building, the high ceilings and the ambience. Check-in was easy with a code system and the location at Rüdesheimer Platz is fantastic, lots of restaurants and cafes. We arrived late, so the code system was particularly beneficial. The rooms were beautifully furnished and clean, the staff was friendly, and an overall good experience. I usually only write reviews for bad experiences, but we were so happy that we wanted to share

Avoid at all costs. We stayed here for 2 nights. Unfriendly and extremely loud due to the wine festival taking place right outside the front door. I can only share the reviews of the other guests. The owners' answers are obviously evidence of the inability to run a guesthouse.

Wonderfully located but one contact is enough to give it a wide berth. The reply email to our inquiry is regularly a party laugh, grotesquely amusing! The request was: Are there three rooms from Sat to Sun?A simple 'Unfortunately no' would have been perfectly fine...

Very convenient location right on the subway for visiting Berlin. The rooms are lovingly decorated with lots of old photos and tons of artificial flowers, but would definitely need a thorough renovation (windows, electrical cables, curtain attachments). The mandatory telephone “briefing” on the day before arrival takes place in an extremely unfriendly and derogatory tone - unfortunately, at this point it is no longer possible to withdraw from the booking due to the so-called general terms and conditions. When we arrive, contrary to the confirmed reservation, we are accommodated in a room without a shower or toilet. We will be moved the next morning - there is no reduction in the price. You have to pay in cash on the first morning even if you stay for several days!!! We have never experienced all of this on many trips, so breakfast and the nice so-called breakfast help can't improve anything!Never again.Addition based on today's answer from the owner (9 months after our stay):Thank you for your detailed answer, which I do not want to comment on here - the type and content correspond exactly to the communication you practiced with us during our booking and our stay.Just this much: the fact that I took the wrong key when I arrived is a lie. There are witnesses to this.
