We stayed at the Hotel Metropol for two nights and were more than satisfied.The booking was made via Booking, as always uncomplicated. It was not possible to choose breakfast, I think that no breakfast is currently offered or since C. Possibly also because of the staff shortage that is currently noticeable everywhere. That wasn't a big deal for us as there were plenty of breakfast options within walking distance.Check in and check out takes place via a key box.We had the comfort double room, large, modern, clean and stylishly furnished. The bathroom was really nice and also very clean.The balcony is very high, perhaps unsuitable for people with a fear of heights.The room wasn't cleaned, but I wouldn't expect it even after two days. If you value this, you can definitely discuss this with the hotel.The old town can be easily reached on foot in five minutes.We would book the hotel again at any time

We stayed here for two nights…rooms of good standard! Balcony unkempt! Rooms were not cleaned! For me, a Hotel Garni is a hotel with breakfast... there is no breakfast here... only overnight stay... …

+The room (14) looks like it does on the homepage and is well furnished.Key via code worked.Unlike other people's reviews, I reached someone on the central phone number.-The homepage "glosses over" the fact that the beams bend. It says “family business” and “we are waiting for you”. But it is an institution completely devoid of people. Nobody expects us here and it only works if nothing unexpected happens.On the homepage it says "stylish accommodation 700m from the old town" and shows pictures of parks etc. In reality, the business only consists of two floors in a parking garage complex on a four-lane thoroughfare - the most hideous corner we have seen in Tübingen.It says 'room with balcony' there are three rooms that share a balcony. That's not the same if you want some privacy in the evening.But we also had very specific problems:We get out of the elevator and find two signs. 1-5 right 6-9 left.Room 14? After a long search (you search systematically and don't look at every door) we find a white door with a white 14 on it between 5 and 6.Since we were on a bike tour, the question arose where to put the bikes.Telephone information: park at the bottom of the stairwell. But there is a sign there. “Parked bikes will be removed for a fee.” Call again, what to do? Answer: 'Nothing happens."10 minutes later my phone rings. After speaking to the boss, there are problems with other tenants, so they should take the bikes with them to the room.32 kg touring e-bikes in the 4-person elevator? Provider's suggestion:There is a bicycle garage at the train station...Thanks!I've avoided the word "hotel" so far because for me it's not a hotel. It's a nicely furnished locker. We felt ripped off and ripped off for 159 without breakfast! I am attaching pictures.

Luckily we didn't book, but went directly to the garni. We practically couldn't speak to a person. We rang the intercom and even called the phone, but no one answered. It certainly doesn't look inviting. The entrance is that of an anonymous suburban condominium. We therefore opted for another solution, which for the same price was completely different.

The hotel proved to be valid for our needs, quiet and with a convenient multi-storey public car park right next door. I think it is useful to point out that the rooms are located on the third and fourth floors of a normal condominium, which houses various studios and normal apartments, so it is not automatic to connect the condominium glass door to the presence of a hotel. We arrived at 3pm, we rang the bell but no one opened the door. So we called and they explained to us (in English) that to get the key we had to type the code on the dispenser at the side of the entrance. The code had arrived to us via email only as we were about to reach the facility but they communicated it to us again by phone and so we were finally able to enter. The key is also used to operate the elevator.Let's say after driving 630 km. It would have been useful to have all this information already.There was never anyone at the reception but everything in the room was clean and tidy so we didn't need anything.

If you are looking for a comfortable hotel where you can spend a wonderful night, clean, quiet and beautiful. Don't choose this hotel. It is located in a parking lot, the treatment is impersonal, there is no reception, or at least I never saw it occupied.I think that the fact that they posted a nice picture of a house in Tübingen should be reportable. I'll leave you with the real picture. It's a shame, but I'll never come back.

I would like to highlight the service and strong guest orientation in this hotel. We had a very nice room with a large bathroom and balcony. Personal circumstances that were pending at the time of booking may have required an extension of our stay. In the end, this wasn't necessary, but the extremely friendly and empathetic owner tried to organize the bookings so that we could have stayed in the same room, which I really appreciate.The breakfast is balanced, fresh and delicious. Room service was also good. The location is excellent for traveling by train. We felt extremely comfortable.

Our question when booking where we could store our bikes remained unanswered.Instead, the credit card was charged early in the morning.Communication in this automatic booking system can definitely be improved.Personal contact is almost impossible.

We visited the hotel several times BEFORE the renovation and recommended it without reservation.Now there is no longer a barrier-free shower without notice. This was very annoying because the shower tray was very high and therefore unusable for me over the three nights.There were no handles or anything like that either. There wasn't even a towel hook and hardly any space to put even the bare essentials. How we were supposed to dry the towels was a mystery to us.The beds and pillows were sagging or far too soft and not suitable for allergy sufferers.The room itself looked quite nice, even if the furniture wasn't new, but for twice the price as before, it was far worse quality overall.The "balcony" was a tiny communal terrace that we shared with 2 other rooms. It was uncomfortable to use because you were sitting right in front of the other rooms and heard every word from it. We could have booked accommodation without a balcony. But that wasn't enough, we had to constantly pull the curtains because this "deluxe room" was in front of the other 4 rooms on this side and everyone could stare through the front into the room, especially at the bed. Ventilating it wasn't that easy either. Since the room was the former breakfast room, the location was extremely bad. The reception was right next to the room and the elevator was opposite. Of course, this was very loud at almost all times, especially the conversations directly outside the room door. When you wanted to leave the room, you constantly ran into guests who were standing RIGHT in front of our door at the reception. Despite the announcement that everything will be refilled if you put out the green sign, we had a different experience. There was no new water, coffee, cups or towels. No, a cup and a towel were simply missing.But it wasn't just the room that was much worse for us after the renovation, the breakfast was also much better. Instead of fresh croissants, there were dry, ready-made croissants and there were no more coffee drinks with milk.Overall, the hotel may have had old-fashioned furnishings, but it was lovingly run. Even though we've had a variety of rooms, we've never felt as uncomfortable as we did in this "deluxe room".
