Excellent food.Good service.Nice location. Why “only” 4 stars? Cash only. The fact that a restaurant in 2024 still doesn't accept credit cards is antediluvian. Apart from Germany, this no longer exists in Europe.

We stayed at your country hotel with REISEBUS HELDThe chicken fricasses in the bottom drawer were fibrous and tasteless, the salad was not dressed, and there was no cruet at the tableThe cook's journeyman's certificate has been taken awayWe think he stirred the fricassee with a whisk; maybe he used to work in a retirement homeBahhh 😛

Since I travel a lot for work, I've already stayed in a few hotels; the Gasthaus zur Grenz was my worst stay so far. About the room itself: Stained carpet, bathroom old-fashioned and should be brought up to date. But when I come back to my room from work in the evening during my stay, I expect it to still be my room. My suitcases and everything I had in the hotel room were moved to another room without informing me beforehand. The “old” room was already occupied by new hotel guests. It wouldn't have been a problem for me to move into another room, but I would have liked to have moved my private belongings into the other room ALONE. When I asked what that was about, I was asked out of the hotel in a rather less friendly manner... Shortly before the weekend around 7:00 p.m. It's a shame that you can't give this hotel less than 1 star.

We stopped here during a bike tour and enjoyed lunch. It was very tasty, especially the Kaiserschmarrn for dessert! The service was very accommodating and sitting on the terrace was lovely.

After a hike on the Eistobel, we stopped at “Zur Grenz” on the way back. Even though the staff was busy, the service was top and the food was tasty. Price/performance is also right and you have a nice view from the terrace. All in all, a great end to our hike 🥾
