A hotel with a lot of light and shade, rooms very large, mini balcony, bathtub. Unfortunately also with a lot of water running noises (toilet). Spa with pool and sauna, large and clean. Unfortunately broken, organic sauna, steam sauna, massage water jet (1x in and 1x above the pool) door lock to the outside shower and outside loungers (only wearing a towel when you get out of the sauna and you can't get in).Wi-Fi internet difficult.Food HB: Breakfast: very, very manageable, on Sundays there were sausages with scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, other egg dishes were not offered. In the evening ;It would be nice if I could know if the turkey is drowned in garlic. Others apparently enjoyed the food. And often it was okay for us. Dining room too small, not enough parking spaces on site but within walking distance, public parking spaces at the train station. Positive: train station in front of the door. Staff friendly. We were not asked for feedback

We went hiking and ended up here for lunch. On Tuesday it was the only restaurant that was open and where our small dog was welcome. The food was great. Highly recommended.

Somewhat morbid charm. Selketal-Bahn bus stop and train station directly across the street. Hiking trails well signposted.

Nice hotel in Hergerode Alexisbad. Rooms, service and pool all OK. We had booked half board and were completely satisfied. Child in the pool after the hike, dad in the hot tub 😀

Weekend stay with 3 nights and half board. The rooms were fine and quite large. Daily room service is only available upon request. Change of towels etc. daily. The hotel seems to have been moved to a minimum in the wellness building (bathhouse) due to construction work. Here the wellness rooms have been converted into a reception and dining room. The pictures on the hotel's current homepage are completely different. The main building (lodging house) was closed. A basic renovation/refurbishment was probably carried out here. There was no construction noise when we were there. The dining room is quite small and the breakfast buffet is very tight. The breakfast was sufficient but nothing really special. The regional specialties were good. The 3 course dinners were quite "cheap" and you hardly got full. E.g. only one (1) very small toilet (4cm diameter) for the pork goulash. We noted ironically that one of the curtains was half torn off every three days.We only visited the wellness area once. The swimming pool was far too cold, you couldn't stay there. The steam sauna we preferred was not active. (The ice pool was also out of order). In the shower we were greeted by a black spider about 6cm tall.Considering the public parking lot across the street, there were enough parking spaces. The pure hotel parking spaces were not enough. And that even though the main building wasn't occupied at all.Overall, the price-performance ratio wasn't right.P.S. You shouldn't expect anything from the town of Alexisbad except nature. The building that stands out in all photos (formerly the railway rest home) is now just a ruin.

We were very satisfied. Everything was very nice, large room, nice bathroom, nice staff. We didn't want room cleaning every day, that's not necessary. The food was also good, if I wanted something different, my wishes were fulfilled. There are always people who have something to complain about. We really enjoyed it.A little tip, maybe offer food for vegetarians. But that's the only thing.

Unfortunately expectations were not metIt should be the Hotel Habichtstein again. Already known from the 90s as a cozy old building hotel with attractive architecture, cozy, plush rooms, a good and extensive restaurant offering with lunch (small), coffee and cake as well as down-to-earth,extensive evening menu with a local touch. Nice inviting bar (or even the bar) in the evening.Unfortunately there is nothing left of that.Due to the extensive renovation of the large main building, which has been going on for many years and has not progressed much, hotel operations only take place in the Badehaus branches (with reception with very friendly, competent and helpful staff, restaurant and wellness), Cavalierhaus and the Waldhäuser. The path from the bathhouse to the Cavalierhaus is poorly lit and the room lighting (we know rooms in both houses) could use a few more watts. Already very dark. The rooms are otherwise sufficient and adequately equipped. The room service arrangement is ok.Unfortunately there are reasons for dissatisfaction with the restaurant. At first there is only something to eat in the evening. Midday and afternoon none. In addition to the 2 choice dishes within the half board, the menu is very clear, twice there were even many of them not available at all. The crowning glory was that there was no Viennese-style schnitzel, but there was the Jägerschnitzel, which was a Viennese-style schnitzel with a very floury mushroom sauce. Then our food was lukewarm at most on two evenings, the trout fillet was very small, the side dishes: a little mashed potatoes and 2 (in words two) vegetables (1 broccoli floret and 1 piece of cauliflower). The salad was usually without any dressing. We really had the impression that in the “kitchen” everything was or could be fried and warmed up (convection steamer), but not freshly cooked on the stove. With corresponding restrictions on flexibility - among other things, no reference or change to the court components possible. The waitresses constantly seemed overworked, but work/travel could be made much easier if, for example, empty dishes were taken back after serving instead of often walking around with empty hands, while we sometimes sat in front of empty plates for a long time. The breakfast was good and plentiful, beyond any criticism, attentive service.Of course, I see the need for improvisation for the duration of the main building renovation - which has already taken years and will not be completed for years - and the generally tense economic and personnel situation in the hotel and catering industry. The condition or ruin of many companies in the Harz Mountains, but also in Saxony, for example, shows this very clearly.I wish the owners the best of luck in the renovation of the main house, so that the “Habicht” returns to its former, higher attractiveness. It's worth it.Hopefully this will then be honored by numerous, satisfied guests.Despite all the criticism, it is still my house of choice in the southern Harz area and worth a qualified recommendation.
