Very nice breakfast for our 90th birthday. Good service, plentiful and tasty selection at the buffet

Unfortunately, it was a terrible experience, but everything had started so well. As a family we booked a suite with two rooms. In the second room, a sofa bed should serve as a bed.Unfortunately the bed was still being made. Towels for the children were also missing. The reception took our note, but then disappeared after work (hypothesis: totally overloaded).The rooms are also in much worse condition than the photos suggest. The fabric of the sofa bed was so dirty that the hotel tried to hide it with a blanket.The helpfulness at checkout was also very limited.

Of course, the hotel looks very impressive thanks to the castle.The rooms are furnished and designed accordingly. Nevertheless, a little more attention could be paid to small things such as the condition or cleanliness of the shower cubicle or the condition of the cupboards, but these are really just small things. The staff was very friendly and there was a safe place to leave my bike overnight, which is unfortunately not the case in all hotels. I rate the location as ok, it's about 5 km from the city center and there isn't much else there. The breakfast offers everything you need to start the day well. For me, the food in the restaurant is not worth the price.The quality is ok but nothing more.I think it's good to have a small map, but please with appropriate quality, it would also fit well with the ambience in the castle.

First I have to say that the castle is really breathtakingly beautiful and the rooms are very large and spacious.What was unfortunately a bit of a shame is that some of the rooms were dirty and the windows were completely full of spider webs, so we didn't want to/couldn't open the last window. There were also more spiders in the room. Of course it is clear that sometimes there is my spider in the room or sometimes there is a spider web. We were on the ground floor and it is a very old building, but these spider webs didn't look like they were a few days old, but rather several weeks or even months old.As for the restaurant, breakfast was fine. Could have been better but overall it was okay.Dinner rather less. There are three courses but only 2 starters and 3 main courses and 1 dessert. Basically it's not bad, a little bit but not bad. The problem was that a completely different menu was listed on the castle's website. None of these dishes were available in the restaurant and since there were only 3 main courses it was difficult to satisfy everyone's tastes.Then I wanted to book a couples massage and a cosmetic appointment for the next few days. When I asked on site, they said that there were no masseurs or beauticians in the house all day and there was currently no wellness area. There was nothing about it on the website either.There is a fireplace bar in the castle that should open at 5 p.m. There was no one at the bar around 5 p.m. Neither was there around 6 p.m. When I asked at reception the gentleman couldn't provide any information. He said he was just new and didn't know. Which isn't a problem in principle, but this gentleman has always understood me very poorly. He could only speak broken German or no German at all. I also found it strange why he was left alone even though he was new and couldn't speak German.At some point the bar was open but there was only wine or champagne so no cocktails and/or long drinks.In general, with many things we had the feeling that the employees themselves didn't really know what to do or that nobody felt responsible for anything.Despite everything, the employees were always very friendlyAs I said, the location is great, you could do a lot more with it and the hotel is definitely no longer a 4 star hotel
