Hotel makes a nice impression. But since I got a voucher for the three-course menu, I don't know what the rooms are like. I can only recommend the food!!!!! Very tasty. Staff very accommodating and friendly.

Friendly reception staff. Clean, quite dark looking hotel. Depending on the room, there is a shower or bathtub, the possibility of opening the window or not, with or without a refrigerator. Depending on your needs, I would find out in advance. Nice seating in the entrance area with access to drinks from the bar.Manageable breakfast buffet. Free choice of coffee via fully automatic machines, one of which has a vegan alternative as standard. Various metro stops are located directly around the hotel. Supermarket in the immediate, walking distance. Somewhat remote from the center.

My room at the Ameron Cologne was barrier-free. It was functional and tastefully furnished. Although with a few signs of wear. But the hotel can't renovate the rooms every week. The breakfast was rich and delicious. There is special praise for the delicious rolls, coffee and dishes that you won't find anywhere else. (E.g. Mett...! :)) Although it was really busy at breakfast, there was never a lack of ingredients and the service was up to the task. Top!The underground car park is a bit tight. But at least there is one.I did not use any other areas or services of the hotel.Unfortunately, there were a few criticisms during my stay that I would not have expected in this hotel. However, I won't go into this in detail, as these have been taken care of for me after the hotel's reaction described below. What I would like to address instead is how I dealt with the criticism I expressed in this regard: in the case of one employee, the expressed regret seemed insincere and rehearsed to me, so that I felt like I wasn't being taken seriously and was annoyed the whole time. Completely different with the employee checking out. His handling of criticism is excellent! So I am happy to book in this hotel again next time, which would certainly not have been the case otherwise

The Ameron Regent was one of my favorite hotels, and now I would like to make a few comments that didn't exactly make my stay any better and will mean that I will avoid the hotel in the future.Initially I had booked an early check-in for 25 euros from 10 a.m., which the hotel did not honor due to the number of reservations from the previous day. With an hour delay and a 20% voucher for the restaurant, it worked out after an hour. The fee was not calculated eitherso don't worry about it! My suggestion would be to offer early check-in from 12 p.m., then no one has any stress. What really bothered me was the unfriendliness of the staff at the reception. I can tell whether someone is being fake, "nice" or whether they have internalized the role of host. During the first few days I got into the habit of saying hello on my own, but unfortunately that's not to be expected from reception. Is it stress or frustration? The people look at you, walk past you and can't open their mouths, or twist their mouths into a grin when the guest greets the staff. The annoying customer just seems like that. During the morning I asked for a coffee, which of course I would have paid for. It didn't work, the employees were preparing for lunch. And that in a hotel. Incredible! The receptionist only had to walk 5 meters to the coffee machine. His job description probably didn't reflect that. The exception is in the breakfast service area, where all the employees are super nice and accommodating. That was definitely my last stay in this hotel.
