It's completely enough for a few days.A clean bed, shower everything you need. The hotel itself is getting old, but otherwise it was a good hotel. The employees were very nice and accommodating.

I was a bit worried about the stay because of the bad reviews. Honestly, they're true! I would actually only give 2 1/2 stars but the service people are friendly and can't do anything for your house. Rooms shabby, old, noisy and not really clean. If you're looking, you'll find too much here... room key, rotary telephone and an elevator that's been in operation for a long time. The breakfast was OK. The hotel thrives on passing tourists who don't come back. Centrally located but not nice. Despite the musty smell, I slept very well and was amazed myself...

Very nice hotel.Good breakfast...Clean rooms. Friendly staffUpdate: stayed in the hotel for a few days this week. Unfortunately the breakfast was totally lacking... not much choice. Unfortunately that was much better...Too badUpdate September 2024:Unfortunately the hotel is increasingly failing. The price for one night at just under €140 for two people is no longer appropriate...The rooms are getting old and not much is being invested in them anymore. The blackout curtains have extinguishers and stink.Mold everywhere in the bathroom... Even in places where you could quickly remove it.Unfortunately it's a disappointment next time we'd rather walk a little further than spend the night here.

The hotel is in an excellent location and is very affordable. Therefore, I made compromises in the quality of the rooms. My room and the small bathroom were clean. The mattress was great (firm). The employees were super friendly, helpful and communicative. The buffet and coffee were excellent.

We were extremely disappointedRooms are very old.Friendliness at reception well...We booked through booking com. Overnight stay with breakfast. Locally they say no without breakfast. We could show that it was booked with breakfast but then we had to pay another 15 euros per person for breakfast. Really outrageous...Once Trip Inn Ariane never again Trip Inn Ariane...I didn't see or find a smoke detector in our room either...I think that's the rule!!!!

No, room cleanliness could be better.We booked through bo...com and included breakfast. (130€) but we were then charged again for breakfast on site (30€) despite proof of the booking invoice which clearly stated that breakfast was included.Furthermore, it is not necessarily an advantage that you cannot park your car at the hotel.Cologne is still a beautiful city.We'll definitely have better luck with the hotel next time.

The hotel room was stinking and we left the hotel without staying. Despite all these troubles, the hotel did not refund the fee. In fact, the lady at the reception did not even listen to us or the agency officials.

The hotel is in a nice location, but the rooms were very, very dirty. There was a very strong smell. He had a very serious cough from the moment we entered the room. The corridors of the floors were filthy. The hotel staff's attitudes and comments towards these issues were very bad. We left the hotel because staying would harm our health and the hotel did not provide any refund. I am making a note of this as a hotel that I will never pass by again!

The website states that the double room is 18 square meters, but I believe it is only 12 square meters by visual inspection. It is good to have a large fan, the location is good and quiet, and the electric switch is sufficient.

Unfortunately, the hotel is exactly what you would expect given the good location for the "cheap" price - not very good. The rooms are very old and not really clean. There are strange stains on wallpaper and floors everywhere. The rest of the equipment is also very old and/or completely worn out and worn out.Only the staff is very friendly and professional. The location is of course also great.

Very dissatisfied with the stay. Left the day before. We originally wanted to stay for 3 nights (Thursday to Sunday). Even at check-in the process seemed disorganized.When entering the room, it was immediately apparent that it was even less comfortable than it already looked in the photos.The room was unclean and didn't really seem inviting. There was trash from another guest in the closet, the window sills were extremely dusty, the floor around the bed was stained and appeared to be uncleaned. The bed had a hard mattress, was rickety and squeaky. The wood on the walls was also totally wobbly. It was oppressively hot on the first floor and in the room, even though it wasn't even warm outside (that's probably why the room was equipped with a fan).There was mold in the corners next to the window.The breakfast itself was okay, but there were flies and the benches were shabby.The staff came DIRECTLY into the room after a gentle knock, without waiting for a response - this is also absolutely not clear and happened a whole 3 (!) times!On the second day the power went out for about 90 minutes. The porter was friendly and understanding and immediately looked for the caretaker, who simply called out to him, "call an electrician, I'll eat."The caretaker then tried to get the electricity running again, but only pointed out that this problem must be our fault. After all, we are the only guests on the floor (which is not surprising).On the third day we checked out in advance and asked for a complaint log, there was no such thing. Please write an email and list your complaints on a sheet of paper. This was not countersigned and the name of the receptionist was not given when asked. She also didn't want to countersign that she had accepted all the complaints. "We don't do that." And referred to a handover protocol for the next shift. In my opinion, complaint management is a huge nonsense.I would absolutely not recommend this hotel. Even for the price, it's way too bad.

You can give one star for the nice staff and the close location to the cathedral. But it's not nice on the street. Communication in German was sometimes difficult with the staff, which wasn't too bad. 3 nights were planned. We left after 2 nights because the bed was so hard that we were in a lot of pain. The room was dirty. After the first night I had the worst case of conjunctivitis and then had to get antibiotic drops from the pharmacy. Cleaning was really poor, there was still rubbish from the previous person in the closet at the back. Mold on the windows. Wooden windows and the room was roaring hot. Since the hotel is well aware of this, we at least had a fan in the room. The furnishings were from 1960 and had corresponding signs of wear. The door frames and walls were also in need of renovation if not broken. On Friday we had a power outage for 1 1/2 hours. According to the annoyed caretaker, it's because of our charging cables because we're the only ones on the entire floor...The breakfast was ok but not good. There were more flies flying in the breakfast room. Cushions on the outdated benches stained, dirty. Smell in the hotel generally not good.Well, when we checked out early we asked for a complaint log. The lady didn't have one and we were supposed to write everything down and also write an email. She didn't want to countersign what we wrote down so that we could prove that she had accepted it, and she didn't even want to tell us her name. So complaint management at the lowest level. We took photos and videos and, after repeated requests, we received at least a copy of what we wrote down.Conclusion... definitely not in this hotel. 3 nights with breakfast 354 euros which ruined our long weekend here in Cologne... hopefully we'll see some of that money back. I'm glad to be home again today. NEVER AGAIN.
