An absolute disaster – never again!”We were extremely disappointed with our stay at the Mercure Hotel in Duisburg. For a supposed 4-star hotel it was simply unreasonable. As soon as we entered the room we noticed how dirty everything was - dust and dirt everywhere. In the fridge we found hardened dirt and even hair! The bathroom was also anything but hygienic, which really made us uncomfortable.Additional shock: There was no kettle, and we only found a single coffee capsule for two people. The safe in the room was broken and therefore unusable. You simply expect something different in a 4-star hotel - unfortunately we were disappointed on every level. Only the staff was nice and accommodating. We will definitely not recommend this hotel.

Great hotel very nice and clean rooms good service. Great gastronomy in the hotel. A parking space in the parking garage must be booked at the same time. There is no parking outside. Since the elevator is very small and slow, I recommend not booking a room on the top floor. But everyone feels differently. I'd love to come back

I stayed at the hotel for 3 days and was very satisfied, the receptionists were very friendly and very helpful, unfortunately I couldn't use the indoor pool due to renovation work but otherwise all in all highly recommended.Breakfast was great, really big selection and something for everyone, I was really excited.Room facilities are very good, you have everything you need in the immediate vicinity and it is also clean.Thank you

First the positive. The staff, whether at reception, bar or breakfast, were very friendly and accommodating!We booked 1 night in a double room.The carpet in the hallway is very worn and outdated. The toilet on the bar floor had dirt on the walls and the toilet seats looked nibbled. The prices in the hotel restaurant should be reconsidered. €15.50 for a few fries and sausages is a hammer. 0.2 liters of cola over €3. The prices and the taste of the cocktails were within reason. Let's get to the room. The couch is way too big for the room. To achieve this, savings were made on the entry point of the bed. You had to squeeze against the wall to get into bed. The couch was full of white spots. The cupboards full of grease stains. The carpet under the bed was old, dirty and unhygienic. A positive aspect is that coffee and water are provided in the room.The bathroom was clean and everything you needed was there. The hairdryer should be replaced, it is also getting old and has no power.The room is also getting old.The breakfast was okay so far, the selection of sausage and cheese was very limited and partly unlabelled, especially with the quark and yoghurt.There was only 1 packaged jam, 4 jams were signposted. When we asked in the kitchen they said there was nothing left...Rolls fresh, croissants tough and tasted old. Lots of selection of baked goods.A positive highlight is the friendly staff who always refilled the food.

The hotel itself is getting a bit old... the carpets in the hallways, for example, have seen better days... but the room was very nice and I would think it was newly renovated and very clean. The wellness area, sauna and swimming pool are currently being rebuilt and renovated. Once that's finished, it could be pretty nice again. It's great to have the opportunity to train for free in a very large and well-equipped fitness studio, which is located directly above the hotel. The staff was remarkable: friendly and accommodating throughout, be it at the reception, in the restaurant, at breakfast, except for the cleaning staff!

The hotel is located directly in the center and so you have everything important around you.The reception has always tried to be friendly. As an Accor member, there were all upgrades except for one upgraded room because everything was occupied.Unfortunately, the spa or pool cannot be used, which was a shame.Parking ticket for €12/day is fair. The rooms were clean, but the corner in the shower was moldy. You should replace the silicone joints more often. Unfortunately, this is unavoidable in the hotel.Overall a normal hotel.

The appearance of the rooms was fine, but very small for the price you pay, nice beds! Evening meal and breakfast were quite disappointing and not very tasty. Weird reception when we came in and the same bit blunt when we left. Location is nice, very close to the center and casino and 2 parking garages.

The hotel is next to a shopping arcade, which was nice for us. There are also various restaurants nearby. This was very helpful as the hotel restaurant is only open about every other day and the offerings are quite limited. The breakfast was very varied and tasty. The room was big enough, with coffee making facilities, which was great. However, when we arrived, one of the cups was still dirty and the outside of the room door was also covered in dirt.The swimming pool, which we were looking forward to, even though it was supposed to be small, was unfortunately closed.The hotel only has one elevator. There were often longer waiting times due to guests arriving and arriving with luggage. The elevator was also out of service a few times, luckily only for a short time.The staff was very helpful and friendly!We were there with our dog. There were no problems with her either.

The service was limited to the moderately friendly check-in, combined with the information that the spa area, which was one of the selection criteria for staying overnight there, could not be used due to elevated chlorine levels. Thank you for nothing. I've had better breakfasts in other hotels with lower ratings. If you come to breakfast at 7:45 a.m. and the micro bowl of scrambled eggs is immediately empty, it's easy to serve. If it takes another half hour to fill it up again, even more. The juice was forgettable. It was some kind of nectar that isn't allowed to be called juice when it's in the supermarket. All in all a little disappointing for a hotel with this classification and price. I wouldn't visit again unless there's nothing else.

The rooms are not very spacious and even in September there are winter blankets on the bed
