Worn out even though it's not old (sorry my carpet spoke volumes). Staff very nice. The bar is grossly overpriced, not a bit expensive but completely crazy. Breakfast also has a hefty price, so it was out of the question for me. Really not the first choice in Essen for short business stays, especially since there are excellent, simple hotels right next to the train station.

The hotel is absolutely fine in its class. Clean rooms, quite good location. I didn't try breakfast because the price was high at 18 euros. But what is absolutely inexplicable with common sense are the prices at the bar. A bartender who is busy with his cell phone throughout his stay seriously charges 6.20 for a wheat beer. Of course he can't do anything for the price, but his boss should seriously ask himself whether he still has all his wits about him. A fantasy price for a hotel that can be between 2 and 3 stars, with a lot of goodwill. I think as a long-term world traveler I can judge that. Today I received a reply from the hotel saying that the prices were in line with similar hotels. That is simply wrong. The far better Motel One in the neighborhood charges 5 euros for the same drink, while good restaurants in the area charge 4 euros. And beer is just one example, for 0.7 of water you charge around 8 euros and so on. And you offer a bar that is rather below average with a very limited bar offering (here too I would like to refer you to Motel One, which offers a bar of international standard in a 3 star hotel). The prices are absolutely absurd and lack expertise.

I can't rate the stay. I live in the city and saved something there using the “too good to go” app. You can get a lot of fresh items from the breakfast buffet for a reasonable price. Gladly again,👍

Nice and modern hotel. Beds comfortable. Breakfast is great and varied.But unfortunately there are no windows that you can open. The reason is due to the street noise. There is air conditioning and ventilation that runs all night long and not quietly. Unfortunately, the ventilation cannot be turned off either. So there is no quiet night.An absolute no-go for me!

We were in the hotel from October 27th to 29th, 23 with 6 people, 3 double rooms.The rooms are modern, clean and attractive. Soundproof windows guarantee that you cannot hear the nearby railway line. The breakfast buffet is very rich and reasonably priced. Parking spaces are also available for taller vehicles (vans), some of which are public and free. The staff is friendly and helpful. The price-performance ratio is right here. We'd love to come back

Top hotel, very positively surprised. On the road with two toddlers. Had a 'double room', super nice and tidy. As a bonus, especially for the boys, we were on the seventh floor 'on the corner', which gave them fantastic views of the railway and the intersection. We were not bothered by the noise at all and the boys enjoyed it. Top service, neat (good cleaning:)) and a diverse and nice hotel! Highly recommended!

Room are decent and people are nice, but €18 for breakfast that have little choice of €7 for a bottle of water is a bit much. Also right now (2024) it’s construction right outside, so if you need want to nap during the afternoon, it’s a bit annoying.

I try to evaluate as subjectively as possible. I was invited to a seminar here in the hotel by the ibf and was there for 5 days.The following is to be evaluated++Pro++: Location, 5-8 minutes walk from Essen HBF.5-10 minutes walk to the city center.Spacious rooms, clean and modern.Walk-in shower.Wardrobe, desk and safe available in the “simple” double room.Air conditioning works very well. In the room and throughout the hotel.The seminar room is large, flooded with light and the acoustics are good so that even participants who speak quietly can be heard well.The service staff was always friendly and reliable at every location in the hotel. Big praise to the team.You felt comfortable at all times.And the last point, you can tell that a lot is being done here in terms of sustainability. E.g. Butter dispenser, reduction of packaging waste etc.Despite the close proximity to the railway tracks, you can only imagine trains passing by, so it is very well soundproofed!••Neutral••: You cannot open the windows (but it says so in the hotel description)The breakfast is too one-sided, it seems like it's the same every day... only the hot buffet changes (with things I don't need for breakfast, Nuremberg, etc.)But that's more my point of criticism, someone else might like it, but that alone doesn't lead to a point deduction.--Negative-- :What I rate negatively is that there is not a refrigerator in every roomThere doesn't have to be a minibar, but a refrigerator would be good.The bed is very comfortable but far too hard for my standards (cervical spine syndrome) so I couldn't sleep through the night and had back pain in the morning.The air conditioning sometimes works far too well! That means if it's 30/33 degrees outside and you come in it's like a slap in the face! Too cold. When eating, you have to choose your seat carefully, otherwise you'll be sitting in the direct wind.I have to rate the lunch and dinner negatively! But the catering is to blame and not the hotel because the hotel is just a B&B concept, which means the hotel does NOT have its own restaurant.The hotel bar is well stocked, but in my opinion the selection is still limited. Well, there is freshly tapped beer but otherwise everything comes from the bottle - this means there are no cocktails, so a few standards like Tequila Sunrise or something similar would be desirable. It doesn't have to be the full program.There is something to eat at the hotel bar, but it is not freshly prepared, but that doesn't bother me.All in all, I had a lovely time here and would recommend the hotel.

We've been to this hotel twice and each time we were greeted very nicely by the nice young lady with brown hair and was extremely friendly. We'll come back here anytime!
