Update October 30, 2024Even 1 star is too much for this hotel and the non-existent service.Making credit card bills for services that the guest did not use and then pretending to be dead is an absolute NOGOUpdate July 30, 2020That thing about the favorite place in the Steigenberger Cologne was once upon a time!!The constant change of employees in the front office and also the change of general manager don't seem to be doing the house any good! The last stay was an absolute nightmare from start to finish. Topped off at checkout by an impossible and unfriendly employee.****************************A very nicely renovated hotel (I think 2016). The rooms are very spacious and modernly equipped. The staff at reception are very friendly... you immediately feel welcome as a guest and perceived as such. The breakfast buffet is very large and extensive and leaves almost nothing to be desired (except the cream cheese 😉)...perhaps the F&B manager can make some adjustments here. The lobby and bar area are also very modern and very stylish for my taste.Even at meetings, the banquet team leaves almost nothing to be desired. The Steigenberger Cologne has become my favorite place...Please keep it up!

So since Google didn't post my reviews, now again. We stayed here for one night and the service was good. The rooms had an ok atmosphere and were a good size. Unfortunately, there were indefinable stains on the chairs in the room. There were also stains on the dessert that could have been easily removed. But that shouldn't be my job as a guest. In addition, the bedding or the blanket and the pillow underneath smelled musty. The cover was definitely new, so it must have been the blanket and pillow themselves.Unfortunately, things got a bit hectic at breakfast, as the breakfast room is far too small for such a large hotel and there was hardly any space. It was also very loud. We were traveling as a group and had to fight a bit to be able to sit together. Unfortunately, that was a bit unfortunate. In addition, the tables were wiped down rather poorly and there were a lot of used dishes lying around. It's incomprehensible to me how you can plan such a large hotel with so little space. But the food was good and there was a good vegetarian and vegan selection. We were supposedly given quiet rooms, which nevertheless brought with them a certain amount of noise. That was ok, but if you are very sensitive it could still be annoying.Overall, I have to say that the points listed disappoint me in the upscale category and don't really represent what the Steigenberger brand actually suggests. I didn't feel as comfortable as I'm used to in this category. I would probably prefer to choose another chain etc. the next time I choose a hotel.

Fantastic hotel.Good location in a lively area with many restaurants around. The hotel is an austere building with no character from the 70s, however inside, everything is new, perfectly clean and well maintained in a classic and modern decor at the same time. Discreet and fast service.Large, comfortable rooms with large bay window and view of the cathedral in the background, superb in the morning! The breakfast is superb: varied and well stockedAn excellent address, the price of which remains quite reasonable, if booked in advance via booking.

I always thought of the Steigenberger Hotel as a luxury hotel! But what does that building look like! ?! It's terrible what a box or log house looks like in the East! Things look completely different in Bad Neuenahr!!!!

Excellent hotel with beautiful surroundings. A very warm welcome and good location. Although it is a bit far from the old town. Just walk a little. The rooms are large, very clean and comfortable beds. As for the breakfast, it is excellent with a huge choice and lovely staff. I highly recommend it.

Our stay at the Steigenberger Hotel Cologne was great! The location right on Rudolfplatz is unbeatable and allows you to easily reach many of Cologne's sights on foot. A special highlight was the bed - I haven't slept so well in a long time! The mattresses are extremely comfortable and made the stay really relaxing. The breakfast buffet was also excellent: a large selection, fresh and very tasty. The staff were consistently friendly and helpful, so we immediately felt welcome. A small point of criticism is the noise from outside, especially in the rooms facing the street, but that hardly affects the overall impression. In addition, parking fees in the underground car park could be a little cheaper.Overall, however, the positive aspects clearly outweigh the negatives, especially for city travelers or business people.

The room was ok, the view of the cathedral too, but that was the only thing! Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio doesn't fit here at all! At such a price per night you would expect a reasonable breakfast and good service, which unfortunately was neither the case. The breakfast room was also a disaster and the staff was not flexible.
