A very quiet hotel, an ideal starting point for hikes. The staff and service are nice, friendly and accommodating. Very good and rich breakfast buffet with freshly prepared egg dishes, so you can start the day well. The rooms and furnishings are getting a bit old, so “only” 4 stars. There are enough parking spaces at the hotel.Thank you very much, we had a lovely holiday.

Hello, we wanted a bed for one night and came across the Waldhotel by chance. Our requirements were more than met. The service was excellent, very friendly staff throughout. The sauna and swimming pool are just the thing to relax after a day on the wall.We only gave the room 4 stars because the balcony wasn't particularly inviting. The floor and ceiling needed repairs and the door made terrible noises. (However, renovations are currently underway and perhaps these deficiencies will be remedied in the future?)We would definitely come back again.

1 month ago we stayed for 5 nights in Waldhotel Bärenstein. I've delayed making a review far too long, but that is because I find it difficult to top all the other positive reviews that this hotel already has.As far as I'm concerned a hotel experience consists of three parts, the location, the building and the personnel. The location is exceptional, the location in the middle of the woods is ideal for walks and extremely quiet, the building has all the aminities a 4 star hotel should have, an indoor swimmingpool, a gym, a restaurant and the rooms themselves are luxurious with a very nice balcony and good bathroom but it is the personnel that makes this hotel exceptional. The staff is always a team effort so it would not be fair to put only one person in the spotlight, so I am sorry Frau Carolin Reimer but you and the rabbit lamp made our stay at the hotel a memory we will cherish for a very long time. Many thanks to you and the very great staff !P.S They will fulfill every request you could have, just ask them. They even were able to arrange 5 days without rain !

As a visitor to the MOW Bad Salzuflen fair, I stayed in this hotel, because the offer of hotels in the mentioned place is quite modest and insufficient for the needs of the fair. The hotel is located 30 minutes from the fair, offers peace, rest, with very good service and staff. Breakfast was quite OK on a buffet basis.

Hello, we were on holiday at the Waldhotel Bärenstein for a week. The hotel was fine so far. We really liked the area and the nearby Externsteine. The storage space for our e-bikes was also ok.When her receptionist asked her whether everything was OK when paying our interim bill, I answered yes, with one exception, and reported it as such. She noted it and wanted to take care of it. Unfortunately that wasn't the case! The exception relates to the menu. Therefore only three stars for the service! In my opinion, for a week's stay, this is a little poor and could be a little richer. You don't eat everything and it would be nice if you had more choice. And a little tip: send your chef to a seminar on how to fry schnitzels until they are crispy and juicy. Our Viennese-style schnitzels were dry, tough and burnt on the side that was not visible. But menu aside, it was very nice.Michael and Gabi Simon, room 216.Breakfast was absolutely ok and delicious.

The only downside: parking. You have to park along the narrow road in front of the hotel and it fills up quickly.Furthermore, only praise. Beautiful spacious room with a nice balcony with privacy and a beautiful view over the hills. Leaving the hotel and crossing the road you are immediately in the Teutoburger Wald with the beautiful Externsteine a 10-minute walk away.Sauna and swimming pool were excellent. Both bathrobes and towels were provided to guests free of charge. The 3-course menus were top, true and delicious works of art by the chef. The breakfast buffet was also very good.Top hotel.
