A wonderfully beautiful place in the heart of Germany.

Nice restaurant in the old castle - therefore great ambience. Good cuisine, we enjoyed it very much.

When you're in the area, stop by and check it out for yourself. Good food, great service and plenty of space for guests. I recommend

The 😍 good:• Very quiet location, in the middle of fields, meadows and a stream. It certainly looks particularly beautiful with snow and really green in summer.• Anyone who wants to get away from the noise of the city will find real peace here.• Dogs are allowed and welcome, even very large dogs. The nature around it is of course perfect for beautiful walks.• Within walking distance there is a meadow where alpacas of all colors live. On normal days you can book these for a hike or to socialize.• Wheelchair users, wide strollers - can get in and out anywhere without any problems. There is space everywhere, elevators and taxiways instead of steps.• The ladies and gentlemen from the service are SO friendly, extremely accommodating and great! As an allergy sufferer and vegan, I had great vegan cheese brought to the table and almond milk with my coffee every day.• There is wonderful antique furniture in our suite, as well as in the hallways, the library and the other rooms. You want to take them all with you! Just the antique cabinets, rustic typewriters, paintings and of course the very princely staircase at the entrance!Not 😖 good:• Quietly located next to a horse, donkey and pony stable, there was a smell of manure almost around the clock.• The parking space we booked in the courtyard was only possible on one evening/night because there were simply not enough spaces on offer.• When asked by other guests, all of the double beds apparently had a physically divisive problem, with mattresses drifting apart and a huge crack in the bed. Damn unromantic and far from any comfort.• On New Year's Eve there was a 5-course menu and for all allergy sufferers, vegans: nothing. Other than the hotel's serious statement: Good luck finding another restaurant.Conclusion: Very backwards, absolutely not keeping up with the times. There wasn't even ONE vegan dish on the normal menu. (We then ate at a Vietnamese restaurant on New Year's Eve, had a wonderful family connection there and, above all, great vegan, delicious food).

Nice room and friendly staff. Unusual: No minibar despite the upscale category. Depending on the wind direction, unpleasant smells sometimes come from the neighboring farms. Overall, definitely recommended.

I attend seminars there every now and then. The hotel is in a very quiet location with good food and is also an ideal starting point for hiking tours.

Gastronomy/hotel review, Gehrden CastleI am writing this review on behalf of my mother Katharina Hoppe, she celebrated her birthday there a year ago. Therefore, this assessment corresponds to their feelings."I wanted to celebrate my 50th birthday in a suitable atmosphere and that's why I chose the Schloßhotel Gehrden. This review will be comprehensive because I was really very satisfied and would like to share my experience here.We all met at the beginning in the hotel lobby, where the service staff prepared a champagne reception. Always friendly and courteous, they made sure that both jackets and coats found their right place. The reception went smoothly and to my complete satisfaction.After all the guests had arrived, we were led into the large dining room, where a perfectly set table awaited us. From the tablecloth to the flower arrangements, everything harmonized very well. At the beginning, the service staff handed out a variety of drinks, and there was a menu I had individually selected with a starter, main course and dessert. The starter was served at the table, while the main course and dessert were served in the form of a small buffet one room away. As soon as a drink or part of the buffet was empty, it was taken care of immediately. So here's a big thank you for the enormous attention we've received here.Finally we went to the wine cellar, where we wanted to end the evening comfortably. The cellar was reserved for my event and my son was allowed to spice up the cellar a little with his event technology, after all, we wanted to be able to dance properly (the wine cellar itself of course also has the ability to play music). Here, too, we were looked after courteously and caringly by the service staff, and Dogu's friendliness was particularly noticeable. He was always there to help and advise us, ensuring an all-round, worry-free package. Thank you for that.A special thank you goes to Mrs. Claus, she managed my concerns and made sure that the celebration could even take place. She ensured that appointments were made smoothly, coordinated the service staff, took care of various things in the background and thus created a wonderful evening without any complications. The people who work and manage so much in the background should be particularly highlighted in feedback.I would like to address a few points here:Our suitcases, as well as my flowers and gifts, which were initially in the lobby, were carried to our hotel room by the staff without any problems. This service was simply incredibly great. Something like this is not a given and I would like to thank you very much for that. As well as the fact that the little guests (children of the family) were allowed to pass the time in the hotel lobby and hide and play other games, thank you very much for your consideration.When we got to our hotel room, the flowers were beautifully draped and decorated our already beautiful room. The night was "unfortunately" quite short, so I missed breakfast, but I'm sure that would have only benefited the stay.Finally, I would like to say that this birthday was simply perfect. I would like to thank you very much for this wonderful time. We would be happy to come back at any time."
