Overall, the JH is modern, spacious and very well equipped. The room and bathroom were clean, everyone got a room key. The staff is very helpful and extremely friendly. You can endure it very well here. The breakfast buffet is extensive, the dinner was always very tasty and the salad/vegetable counter was a hit! There is a table football/billiards/TT room. There is also a playroom for small children. There is an elevator for the 2 floors. Some bicycles can be safely stored in their own lockable room. In the double room, the beds have no borders - a relief for tall people. (In the 6-person room, however, the double bunk beds.)The games room is very comfortable and you can also borrow games. There are several types of beer and coffee available at the “Denk-Bar”.And now, for the sake of completeness, some critical feedback - although the "complaining" is at a high level:To be able to enjoy your coffee in peace, it would be nice to have a few comfortable seats in the entrance hall.Since the JH is located in the city, the JH does not have its own outdoor area; you can quickly get to the city center with the S-Bahn - even on foot (10-15 minutes).There are no parking spaces at the house, but in the immediate vicinity of the JH you can find free parking spaces on the side of the road where there are no longer any parking zones. Simply ask the youth hostel in advance.The dinner times are relatively short at 1 hour, everyone crowds into the hall at once. For many families it is quite loud. This is better regulated in the morning. It would help if the food was served by several people.There should be more shelves and hooks in the bathroom in a 6-person room.Unfortunately, at night it was sometimes quite loud outside in the adjacent playground (where several people like to drink vodka or smoke various things at the playground) (sometimes only 5 minutes or sometimes 40 minutes at a time). If you are sensitive and want to sleep through the night, you should take ear plugs with you.The area surrounding the JH is actually suitable for families, as long as there is supervision on the playground (due to the alcohol/drug scene). Maybe that's the influence of the S-Bahn terminus right next to the house. Of course the JH can't do anything about that.

Top!As a group of friends, we stayed at the Bielefeld youth hostel for a weekend and were absolutely thrilled! The rooms were clean, comfortable and had enough space for everyone. The common area was particularly nice, where we could sit and play together in the evenings.The staff was super friendly and helpful, always approachable and with great tips for things to do in the area. The location of the youth hostel is also ideal - you can quickly get to the city center and the surrounding nature also invites you to take beautiful walks.The breakfast was delicious and rich, just the right thing to start the day strengthened. We would particularly like to emphasize the relaxed and relaxed atmosphere, which made our stay very pleasant.Overall, a great accommodation that we can warmly recommend to any group! We'd love to come back!

The youth guesthouse is a great place for everyone. We stayed here with the whole family for 5 days and thought it was great.Our vacation started from the moment we walked in. We were warmly welcomed by the reception team and the children were shown the play options straight away.The food was also great and there was something for everyone.We will come back to the youth guest house at any time.Kind regards to the entire team

General information about HB (hostel):The HB is structured like this: You enter the building, look up and see 2 floors with around 28 rooms each (I didn't count exactly). The youth hostel consists of 2 blocks. Block 1: The rooms are there. Block 2: This is the so-called “seminar building” which is connected to the residential block via a glass tunnel that floats above the street. There is very poor ventilation in this glass tunnel and in summer the internal temperature is at least 34°C. The “seminar building” also has the dining room, which is usually very clean.You are not allowed to enter the HB with water or food that you bought at Rewe down the street, for example, or you are not allowed to take these products into your room. In other words, you either have to rely on the tap water from the tap or you get an overpriced half liter of water from the reception.Room:The rooms are clean and there is enough space. Many but not all rooms are equipped with a television.Service:The only positive service I experienced was the communication from the employees at the buffet, who were always friendly. At the reception you are treated disrespectfully by the receptionists. (A friend dropped something from upstairs and the receptionists joked about him for 2 minutes before finally returning the item) In my opinion, the food is subpar except for breakfast. Both at lunch and at dinner I had the feeling that the food came from a can and was just warmed up. However, if you cooked it yourself, it was either cooked too long or cooked too short. The spices are usually left out 100%.Location:The HB is next to a public playground and is connected to many places thanks to a directly adjacent tram stop. Overall the location is ok... as long as you like the smell of cannabis during the day or the screams of junkies from the playground.Conclusion:Price-performance ratio is underground and the HB is absolutely not recommended. For the price or 20-40€ more, you can get a better deal at one of the surrounding hotels.

Location with many drug dealers, no parking where you were allowed to park because the parking space that was designated was a parking ban from Monday to Friday. And you have to park in a parking garage nearby and therefore have to pay money. Location was not a nice environment.

The rooms are ok but the bed covers that are available are torn and a bit dirty. The bathroom is not good either.Service is just a disaster. Many of the staff are very unfriendly and rude and the food doesn't look particularly appetizing.Because of the location it's actually perfect, the only thing that bothers you is the tram but that's not so bad.

Super nice employees, everything was very uncomplicated. Practical transport connections with the stop right outside the front door. Attractive breakfast. Room basic but quite spacious and clean.

Unfortunately, overall a very bad experience! Privacy was not respected at all, cupboards were opened and rubbish was searched. All of this served the purpose of banning drinks and food from outside and thus increasing profits with their own snacks. In addition, all the service staff were very unfriendly.

The staff was super unfriendly, not willing to compromise, especially with youth groups, which would actually be expected in a YOUTH guesthouse. Knocking on rooms at four in the morning only to yell at the people in them out of nowhere is unacceptable in any interpersonal situation imaginable. The cherry on the cake was that employees stormed into the room, opened the lockable cupboards and searched our private belongings. Not recommended, especially for larger groups of youth/students, sorry!

I'm stunned! You are not allowed to bring your own drinks or snacks into the youth hostel. Even the cupboards are unlocked and checked! The employees have never heard of privacy and friendliness. Food cold. It doesn't work at all.

Privacy has been trampled on here by checking closets. Room itself well equipped. Food... canteen. Dessert always the same Dr. Oetker pudding from the tetra pack. Reception staff not very polite. !Don't bring alcoholic drinks! if you don't want to be lectured. The prices for alcohol here are exorbitant. Snacks are also forbidden to bring in and are also overpriced.

We were guests for 6 days in mid-September and it was catastrophic. I have never experienced such an inhospitable establishment with such bossy staff. They opened and checked our cupboards without our permission, threatened us with lies about fines if we allegedly continued to consume drinks from outside and woke us up in the middle of the night at 4 a.m. in order to then brag about some rule violations by my seminar participants. They stubbornly stick to their point of view and it is impossible to have a reasonable discussion with the employees. absolutely not recommended

I was completely satisfied. Very friendly and helpful employees at the reception, very clean and not very noisy rooms, short walking distance (one or two train stations in an emergency, the train stops right in front of the door) to the old town, great breakfast. Parking spaces available in the area. I would book again.Oh! And Bielefeld really exists! And it's pretty pretty there too. I haven't really seen much, but what I did see was better than Krefeld - well, the chances aren't bad ;)
