I stayed in this hotel with a friend for a week to hike the Urwaldsteig. The rooms are newly renovated and very comfortably furnished. From the balcony we had a great view of the Edersee and the dam and Waldeck Castle. The staff is incredibly attentive and super friendly. We felt really looked after. If there was no way to get to the start of each stage by public transport, we were taken there by the shuttle service. And picked up again in the evening at the edge of the forest. The Wiesemann family offers hikers an “all-round, worry-free package”! With half board you will also be really pampered. The food was a highlight to look forward to every evening. We'll definitely be back.

I can only recommend this hotel for all categories. The team in particular is not only extremely friendly, but also really knows how to create a relaxed, cheerful atmosphere in the restaurant. The service for all questions and problems was outstanding. We have been traveling to many hotels for decades. And you often don't even have that with 5 star accommodations. The hotel is recommended for future trips to this area.

This family-run hotel can only be recommended. It is located in a quiet hillside location with a direct view of the Edersee and its dam (illuminated in color at night). We can only praise the service and the evening menus. Unfortunately there is one less star for the very nice room with a lake view balcony because the sink was installed too low. We will book ourselves there again.

Since we were there with a wheelchair, we had an apartment with level access. The apartment was very large and clean and equipped with everything imaginable. Breakfast was great, everything was always fresh and the service was excellent. The 3-course menu in the evening was excellent. The cakes, some of which are homemade, are particularly delicious. There were no waiting times and every wish was fulfilled. The employees are simply outstanding. Thanks. We'll definitely be back. In one week we weren't able to visit everything worth seeing. UpdateNow here for the second time and everything is great.

We spent a few days at the Hotel Wiesemann. The panoramic room was very spacious, modern and tastefully furnished and offers a wonderful view of Lake Edersee. The restaurant is also friendly and offers a view of the lake. The breakfast was extensive, egg dishes were freshly prepared as requested. The evening half board was rich and tasty. Friendly staff. We were unable to use the swimming pool and wellness facilities due to lack of time. Maybe on your next visit! Parking spaces are available and the lake is practically on the doorstep - only separated by the Ederseerandstrasse.

We spent 4 nights here at the hotel and felt very comfortable and welcome from minute one. Very, very nice hosts who always took time for us.The room we lived in was a nice size, although the bathroom was quite small and of an older standard. The bed was too soft for us personally, but that's just a matter of taste. The view from the balcony of the beautiful Edersee was magnificent. The breakfast left nothing to be desired, we were looking forward to our freshly prepared scrambled eggs every day😄The afternoon coffee with freshly baked cakes was also great, as was the 3-course menu in the evening. We spent lovely and relaxing days there. There is simply a difference whether you are in a family-run hotel or in a large and impersonal hotel. We'll definitely come back again.Thank you very much to the Wiesemann-Siebert family and all the best to you!Kind regardsKerstin Karschner

We were in the café on Saturday lunchtime because the advertisement “Cake like grandma's” really appealed to us. There were a total of 4 cakes that were listed for us at the table. Unfortunately it was only fruit cakes. For someone who doesn't like fruit cake, the only alternative was ice cream. Too bad. 2 of us decided on a piece of cake. When asked whether it was possible to get cream or a scoop of ice cream with the strudel, this was confirmed. It would have been nice if the service had mentioned this directly. We chose a table inside to avoid all the bees/wasps eating sweet treats in the summer. Unfortunately, as soon as the cakes were served inside, the attacks started. First one, then two and finally there were six! One piece of cake could be eaten from the order, while only a forkful of the second piece of cake could be tried. The scoop of ice cream had already melted away. Unfortunately it was not possible to eat or drink more. When paying, we mentioned that unfortunately we had to leave because it wasn't possible to drink the drinks or eat the cake in peace. We were offered to wrap the cake, but we refused because it was already covered in bees and everything was drowned under the ice cream. As a service, we would have recommended that the price be accommodated or at least not charge for the scoop of ice cream with the cake or a drink, since everything was there, but good. At the cake buffet we saw the full extent of the busy bees that all came in through the open terrace. The cake was covered, but the hood was full of you. It's a shame, all in all we didn't like it. We were very disappointed, although to be honest we also have to mention that the 4 fruit cakes under the hood looked very good and one piece of the one we tried also tasted very tasty, although 2 were completely empty. 😞
