Unfortunately only a one star rating is possible. Already received an extremely unfriendly welcome at reception, booked 2 rooms under one name, but still not close to each other but spread out throughout the house. The room was a disaster. Ratty, broken furniture, dirty shower, the curtain is only half dark, and the bedside lamp is turned on and off with a plug in and out.At breakfast, which is rather very simple and cheap, there is, among other things, no alternative milk, whether almond/oat/lactose-free. You will look in vain for wheat-free bread alternatives, whether rye crispbread, spelled rolls or gluten-free products. Vegetables are only available as decoration on the sausage, so they are definitely not suitable for vegans. Too bad. A lot of money for poor quality. Luckily we were only there one night.

We have known the restaurant for years and cannot understand the bad reviews. The food stands out for its excellent quality and exquisite taste. The dishes are cooked regionally and seasonally or much more is conjured up. Because what ends up on your plate is more than just food. It is pleasure combined with luxury for the taste buds. The service stands out from all hotels in the region due to its friendly demeanor and warm manner. The restaurant itself has been modernized without losing its rustic charm. But it's not just the building that has a lot of history, the connection to the Veltins brewery is also historically very interesting and worth telling.

It was a disaster. We traveled with 11 people. All rooms super dirty. Pee stains on the toilet and around it. Floors not vacuumed or mopped. Surfaces not wiped. No or not enough rolls for breakfast, we should get them from the bakery across the street. Agreements were not kept. Sad that the owner didn't want to look at any of the rooms. He thinks these are small things and if we don't stop immediately we'll see ourselves in court again, according to him. In retrospect, I'm annoyed that I paid for the rooms. We charged €10 for the “baby bed”, which had to be looked for after we arrived. Although we couldn't use it. No mother would put her baby in there. (See pictures) After staying in this flophouse, I find the silverfish in the bathroom to be the most harmless thing about this hotel. By the way (found on www.Betten-abc.de): This makes the bedroom susceptible to infestation by silverfish: [...] abundant food supply from mites, hair, skin flakes, dust.

I would be very careful eating here. If you have a complaint about the food the cook laughs in your face. It is such an insult. They don't care about you as a guest. I can't recommend this place. The meat is cooked too fast and really dry on the outside even if the middle is medium or pink. They have a cook who doesn't know how to grill a nice piece of meat, and then laughs I your face.
