We were in Willingen with our JGA group and booked Haus Erlen for one night. This is about 15-20 minutes by car from Willingen and is easily accessible. We were happy to accept this because the price of Haus Erlen is unbeatable.Of course, as already described, the facility is getting old. However, it is clean and renovation work is being done. A small beer garden invites you to relax outside in summer. The hosts are incredibly nice and helpful and left nothing to be desired at breakfast.

The house is far from modern and needs a little love in one place or another, but overall you get a clean hotel with super friendly and helpful staff. But the hotel is absolutely perfect for a super comfortable bed after partying in Willingen 👍

- ATTENTION RIP-OFF -There was no one there when we checked in, we were told on the phone just go to your room, the key was there. The whole hotel looks like it was left in the 70s. Really ripped. But it's half as crazy as we wanted to go one place further and just celebrate a birthday and go home the next morning. As we were sitting at breakfast we were rudely spoken to by someone, well.... Without introducing himself or anything else, he said, "I'll get money from you." well. Then he identified himself as the boss's son and of course we paid. In cash☝️. There was no invoice. Our mistake. Two days later we discovered that the hotel had debited the bill again. From the credit card. It's not bad, we thought. Mistakes happen. We contacted the son who was initially friendly and accommodating. But then he changed his tactics and blamed the entire event on his father. Then we contacted the father. He was just like his son, first accommodating and then he wanted to blame it on his wife. We wrote to the man again in a friendly manner and asked if it was really necessary to go through such a hassle over 90 euros, but then nothing came of it. Therefore be careful with this rip-off house with the rip-off clan.

Unfortunately I cannot recommend this hotel. The first thing that greeted me when I opened the room was a terrible smell, as if someone (an elderly person) had lived there for a long time and yet the room had not been cleaned after moving out. Apart from the stench that greeted me, I also noticed the bedding and towels which, in my opinion, had not been changed by the previous tenant (they were not fresh at all). Unfortunately, another thing that I would definitely not come back to this hotel is the lack of any personal hygiene products (even hand soap is not in the bathroom) and there are nasty cobwebs and spiders in the bathroom along the entire wall. So much for the rooms. As for the owner himself, I must admit that he is very nice, although practically impossible to catch on site. There was absolutely no staff. Overall, it's a pity because all it takes is a little willingness to make people want to come back here

As already described in a previous review.I also asked what happened to this hotel. It's pretty run down all around.A young man who tries hard, but walks barefoot through the breakfast room, sugar cubes can be found in a torn cardboard box.The coffee thermoses are dirty on the outside. The rolls lay carelessly in the raffia basket without any insert. There were a few types of sausage, placed directly on a porcelain plate on the table. Jam and margarine in intercontinental style in small disposable packaging. The room on the top floor hasn't been cleaned properly for a long time. Dirt in the bed gap towards the wall and cobwebs inside the skylight frame. Is it now running in emergency mode after Corona and the previous owners have sold the hotel?!There is nothing appealing on the outside. There was a lonely shopping cart in front of and behind the house. Shards of clay at the back of the house. The windows all around were neglected. Not a recommendation, rather not recommended...Joachim List

🤩 A very, very committed, young hotelier who accommodates his guests with a lot of love and passion. He is available to answer any questions and find a solution. 👍🏻 The rooms are simple and functional. Haus Erlen is a good and cheap bed and breakfast.

Whatever happened in this hotel - NOTHING matches the description anymore. Apparently there is only one person running the house alone, who was trying hard and nice, but was still completely overwhelmed with everything! Neither service nor cleaning staff available!
