Hotel Amelia

At the beginning of December I booked a room there for one night. When I wanted to check in I was told that the heating had broken down and that I should find another place to stay.I then wanted my money back but was told I had to request it back through the organization where I had booked.After over a month I haven't received a response from the accommodation or my money back!!

Worse hotel room I've ever been in. Dirty furniture (the edges of the bed were filthy). Spider galore, and cockroach infested. Electrical outlet covers missing behind furniture...Checked back out before bedtime...big problem getting your money/refund back. Didn't eat there needless to say. I'd hate to think what ends up in the food during preparation. I would never give false information or reviews...what you read in my review are cold hard facts...Hotel Amalia an der Schiffslände 8...NEVER AGAIN

The stay was not good!We were there with four children and three adults, divided into two roomsThe rooms weren't decently clean and the shower was dirty. We found garbage in the drawers of the tables (chewing gum wrappers, leftover candy, etc.).Toilet paper and towels were not available. We only received this after asking several times at the reception.The water for the shower and bathtub didn't get really warm, so none of the children could shower or bathe.The taps apparently hadn't been used for weeks as the first thing that came out of all the pipes was brown water for 30 seconds. This was so greasy that it left marks in the shower and sink.When we checked out and talked about the condition of the room etc. the man became extremely rude and rude.We shouldn't complain for the price. He then attacked us personally and said several guests had complained about children screaming. When I asked him what that had to do with the desolate room and the lack of hygiene, he got angry.The children in the cold room all had a cold the next day.Terrible hotel. Look at the reviews on Booking and not on Google, then you will get a realistic insight. It's not for nothing that the hotel there is rated 3/10 stars.

Unfortunately, I cannot rate the hotel or the restaurant but only the welcome which was deplorable. I booked 5 rooms for 10 people on July 23 for October 7. Arrival at 7 p.m. on October 7, full hotel and no meals. Above all, we had to leave quickly according to the manager otherwise we won't find anything. A disaster to leave 10 people, 3 of whom were over 67 years old, without any solution or even help... but fortunately the island is populated by friendly people so if you go to Reichenau Island, stop at the Kreuz Hotel , the welcome is great, the rooms are great and the breakfast too.

From booking to the end of our weekend everything was perfect... friendliness comes first here. We booked again straight away and are looking forward to our next weekend. Thanks to the whole team.

Very nicely located “hotel”. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Also very nice with children. The rooms are a bit run down and unfortunately the cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired. Sheets put on the wrong way round without a mattress protector. Very pungent fabric softener smell. I think it's just the location and the nice staff that make it. If you don't have too high expectations, it's certainly worth a short trip. The direct ferry connection is also great.

Yay, a beautifully located hotel with a café right on the water - what more could you want on a trip!!!Hmmm, well... I don't just want a great environment, I also look forward to good, friendly service, a delicious cappuccino and delicious cake! But when we arrived it was a bad omen...because I asked about the cake buffet🫣! We don't have anything that goes down in there...ahhh, okay. Despite the somewhat strange welcome, we went to the terrace because we were told that someone would take the order there. Great, a nice place... and NOTHING! I had time to take a closer look at the surroundings....iiieehh, cobwebs on tables and chairs, everything very neglected BUT a beautiful view of the lake. More people came, everyone was served...um, "Hello"....here we are! Finally a listless waitress arrives and takes our order accordingly...the cake "buffet" (hahaha) included 1 homemade tiramisu, 1 homemade strawberry cake and other frozen goods...delicious😅!Well, then 2x strawberry cake, 2 cappuccini and 1 glass of tap water. In the meantime I brought a map to the table for us to take a look at. Guests who had just arrived now received their coffee and strawberry cake.Afterwards the “friendly” waitress comes directly to us “No more strawberry cake, it’s over”! Well then please just 2 cappuccini...and the water. Thanks!!! With an empty tray and empty but fully loaded tables everywhere, she goes back inside to sleep! It's unbelievable, the enthusiasm and joy that this person radiates... it makes you want to say goodbye and apologize for choosing this Hotel Amelia.After a while of waiting, the cappuccino came, of course without water. From the first sip it was clear - NEVER AGAIN - I had never had such a bad cappuccino before. Ok, the water please...this nice lady then put it there with a grumpy face.We couldn't stand it for long between the cobwebs, bad mood, bad cappuccino and the run-down hotel complex! A core renovation would be urgently needed and at the same time a change of operation. Because who doesn't want to spend a sunny afternoon surrounded by smiling, friendly faces! I would have liked to have given a tip, but I think you should earn it.I worked in the industry for a long time and know what I'm talking about, my tip box was always full to the brim🙏☀️🙃!CONCLUSION: NEVER AGAIN!!Great place by the lake, but there are other nice places to sit with service, friendliness and a feeling of being "welcome"! The Hotel Amelia is definitely NOT one of them! Save time & money for a better cafe... Carpe diem🙏
