The Alte Post (Hotel) in Laufenburg was incredible with a beautiful view of the Rhine River, easy access to historic old town, and close to a pedestrian bridge that crosses over the Rhine River to Switzerland. Our room was a suite, and large for a European hotel room. It had a gigantic deck with a lovely view of the river. Absolutely loved it!

A wonderful place, they treated us excellently, the owner and her son are excellent people, we went from Mexico and we were surprised by their humane treatment. There is nothing to say about the food, delicious.

Really good value hotel. Rooms large and simply decorated but clean. Excellent Greek restaurant with a good selection of beers. Really friendly and helpful staff. Plus you can always pop into Switzerland on the other side of the bridge!

Very good greek food, attentive service and very generous portions. We went on a sunny day and reserved one of the tables on the terrasse with great view over the river. The big trees provide nice shadow on a hot summer day. A place to recommend in Laufenburg!

The restaurant is mixed German an Greek food with a large choice. As often simple but reasonably well prepared. Quantities are huge and prices are low. service is correct. Do not expect high quality or fancy things but there is nothing wrong

Excellent experience, hotel in the mountains, so quiet. The staff were amazing, the restaurant was closed, but they still cooked 4 meals for us when we arrived.

Excellent beer garden overlooking the river, friendly and attentive staff throughout. Good WiFi. Note there is no lift and only one ground floor room. Quiet and peaceful location, punctuated regularly by the two sets of church bells: German and Swiss, a pleasant backdrop. Good location, not too far from German or Swiss train stations, shops, swimming baths and riverside or hill paths for runs and hikes.

Review for hotel & restaurantHOTEL: Location is central to the old town & bridge, with river views. Price is very good. Garage for storing bicycles. Reception did listed answer phone number to coordinate late arrival. A bakery on one side and a Greek-German restaurant on the other. Reception only open 2hrs 4-6pm; they can coordinate for a later checkin by leaving key with restaurant next door. (But don't expect onsite staff.) Not sure if they are checking the Booking.com messages.RESTAURANT: Really nice restaurant along the river and main street . Charming decor inside, with tables by the window overlooking the river. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was quite tasty and well presented, with beers on tap. A large vegetarian dish available. Solid choice all around.

Nice little restaurant at a beautiful location along the Rhine. Food was good for the price and portions too. This was the second time I went here with my wife and daughter. Unfortunately both times it was the service staff which makes me score two stars. They are not friendly, polite at best. Last weekend there was a large group from the local carnival group spilling from the pub into the restaurant with the accompanying noise and disturbance. Either the staff new in advance and should have told us when we reserved or they should have ensured the group did not block the entrance, door opening and wander among the tables. Very disappointing.
