Thank you for a nice, relaxing weekend in Altanhr and the surrounding area. Very nice room, facing the front it can be a bit noisy at wine festival times if you don't close the windows at night, like we did. Of course, after wonderful hikes and a great dinner, we still slept well. The team took very good care of us as vegans and vegetarians, cooked delicious food and was open to our suggestions and tips. Thanks to the whole family and good luck!!!

Until yesterday we were guests at the Hotel zur Post and had booked the “Short or Long” package for 3 days. In the most wonderful weather, we were able to not only enjoy the great landscape with vineyards, castles and beautiful views, but also our cozy room with a balcony on the 4th floor with a view of the great garden, vineyard, church and Are Castle. In the evening the fantastic 3-course menu with red wine from the region - simply great. It is quite remarkable what the people, especially the hotel owners, the Lang family, have rebuilt. Thank you for this wonderful stay.Everything was great and highly recommended to everyone.

A very nice, centrally located hotel. The owners, Günter and Petra, and the entire staff are courteous, friendly and really very nice👍👍👍 and this statement comes from the heart. The rooms are modernly equipped and the beds offer even a tall person enough space for a restful night 😊...even our parrot "Rocky" was warmly welcomed and clearly felt comfortable 😃. There's something for everyone on the menu 😋.. Big compliments to Max 👍👍👍.. It was a very nice, albeit short, vacation. I could write more, but go there yourself... It's really worth it💕

After 20 years we visited this city again. 3 years after the Ahr flood.Much has been rebuilt, many buildings are still devastated. Roads and railways are still being repaired.Our hotel has converted their guest house into an actual hotel, very well designed. Many rooms are new. Some are very old.It is questionable whether the old hotel will still be renovated.The house is on a very busy street. Even at night there are tractors, cars, trucks and buses racing there.A 30 zone was supposed to help, but 50 to 80 kilometers per hour was estimated to be not uncommon.In order to boost tourism again, in our opinion it would make a lot of sense if the municipality and everyone involved could come to a solution that would create more peace and relaxation with slow traffic.A restful night or day is not possible.

Such a shame, we had a delicious meal, then had a nice glass of wine. When asked about the ice cream menu you are told sorry the kitchen is closed 🤨, there is plenty of food but no, no dessert 😕

We booked two nights with half board together with our dog. We were welcomed very friendly. The room was great! Everything new, good mattresses, big TV, nice bathroom with washing machine. The dinner started with a greeting from the kitchen. Then came an appetizer. You could choose the main course from a small menu. A dessert rounded off the menu. The dishes were absolute masterclass. The staff very warm and friendly. We felt very comfortable. Since the Ahr Valley is still severely affected and a lot still needs to be rebuilt, you can only do good with your holiday here. This is a cycling and hiking paradise. We will come back in any case! The Hotel zur Post is always a good choice in the Ahr Valley.

The review refers to the restaurant. Actually you deserve a big 5*. The rooms are very tastefully decorated, everyone was nice and friendly, and everyone enjoyed the food. ONLY: Putting “convenience spaetzle” next to the deer with the (great) game ragout is not possible. We expected homemade spaetzle from you. And thank you for the greeting from the kitchen, although we would have seasoned the well-known (convenience) sauce a little differently so that you wouldn't recognize it straight away. Update from November: great slaughter platter and very good farmer's steak. On the next visit, the knuckle, fish and salad plate were again very good. We found the halved asparagus funny...

We stayed in Altenahr for 2 nights last week. Since we didn't stay at the Hotel zur Post, I can't comment on the rooms there.We visited the restaurant for dinner.The food tasted very good and I would say there is something on the menu for everyone.The selected and recommended drinks (beer and wine) exactly met our taste.The staff was very friendly and accommodating, so you had a bit of a conversation with them.Our table neighbors were also very friendly, so we stayed in the restaurant longer than planned.And because we liked it so much, we reserved a table for the next evening.When we walked in we were greeted warmly and openly and everything was exactly like the night before.We even met our table neighbors again.The food and service were just as great as the night before.We can only recommend the restaurant.We would like to thank you and wish you continued success in business and reconstruction.We'll definitely come back.

Went there for a knuckle dinner.Really tasty, generous portion and nice atmosphere.The only point of criticism: a different knife would be an advantage for the knuckle, that was really tiring at times 😉See you next time!

We were there for a weekend to hike the red wine trail and felt really comfortable! Service, food, rooms top! And always important for us: a place to store bicycles. Only recommended!
